Chapter#8:Roadtrip

My trip was more straightforward than most. Well, besides the traffic. I got there around eleven pm. Yes, it was more manageable compared to everyone. I opened the door, closed it, and locked it. I soon passed out on the couch.

Missy and I started our trek. We were listening to music and were mostly quiet. We stopped in Napa, Idaho. We got some fast food before heading to a chain hotel.
"Okay, I'm technically allowed to do this." She continued. "I will give you the room."
"Thank you," I said.
She gave me the card and headed upstairs. I slowly closed the door.
"Don't you realize how crazy this is?"
Missy broke out silence.
"I know, but we need to do this," I explained.
"Why tho?"
"Missy, what don't you get?" I continued." We have powers...we don't know if it's safe. We don't know if anyone else knows and wants us dead."
"Ugh, this sucks."
"I know."
There was silence; then missy sat on her bed.
"So, what are your powers?" She asked.
"Um, I can control time," I responded.
"Wow...Prove it."
"How?"
"Tell me what I'm going to say."
"Okay, I'll try to."
I closed my eyes and cleared my mind. Then, I opened my eyes to see Missy looking at me.
"I called it; you were bullshitting." She said.
"I'm not," I responded.
"It's just like your lying that you don't like Evan."
"I don't like Evan."
I closed my eyes and felt the energy coming out of my hands again. Then, finally, I came back to consciousness.
"Wow...Prove it." She repeated.
"Okay," I responded.
"Tell me-"
"What are you going to say next?"
She stopped in shock.
"That was easy to predict."
"Okay." I continued. "You are going to call my power bullshit."
"Um?"
"I refuse, then you mention I have a crush on Evan. So I refuse once again."
"Holy shit."
"Yep, I'm going to take a shower; then I think we  should head to bed."
"Okay,"
I headed inside and started getting ready for my shower.
"Evan texted you," Missy announced.
I ran out of the room in my towel. Missy began to laugh.
"Screw you," I said.
"You like him." She teased.
"Shut up!"
I went back and took a shower. When I got out, I started to change into a tank from a show I was in. I also had flannel pajama pants.
"So what if I think he's cute? I don't know him." I explained.
"Okay, but it's still cute." She said.
"I know."
I felt my face begin to blush. Then, I dramatically fell on my bed.
"Text your mom that we are safe," I demanded.
"Okay." She responded.
I turned the light off.
"Night," I said.
"Goodnight." She responded.

I would say I was second place in how easy my trip was. Even though I got there early, I still stayed at a hotel nearby.

I drove until I got to Barstow, California before I stopped on the side of the road and fell asleep.

I was nervous but where we were going but having Eva with me made me feel better. Before we stopped, we got to Bagdad, Florida. We had a fun night, which made me forget my issues.
