Waking up, Sandra noticed she was in a new environment, a very peaceful one. There were fluffy white clouds on the ground while a beautiful sunset took over the sky.
In front of her stood a woman, her long dirty blonde hair and calm blue eyes brought peace to Sandra. "Mom?" She asked the woman, recognizing the calm face of her late mother.
"I must say, my baby girl is quite the fighter." The woman said, smiling at Sandra. "If only Steven could fight the way you do. I've been keeping an eye on my two babies, and you've done nothing but impress me. Although, you did have that year of a rough patch with that new boy Brandon. I've always thought you and James would be together forever, and now it's like your getting another shot. So do me a favor and speak to Steven again about your little squabble, and stick with James. He's a good man."
Sandra smiled, tears in her eyes. "Mom I've missed you." She said, wrapping her arms around the woman. "But wait- does that mean I'm dead..?"
Sandra's mother shook her head, putting both her hands on Sandra's shoulders. "Well, that depends. Are you ready to move on?" She asked. "Because if you want to, you can go back and fight for your life."
"I-" Sandra stuttered. As much as she would speak of death and how badly she wanted it, deep down she knew it wouldn't do her any good. "I don't think I'm ready to go yet.." she said, looking up to her mother's eyes.
"Well Kassandra, you've got Steven and James waiting for you. I'm going to set you free and back to your physical self now, ok?" Her mother said. "I love you my baby girl."
"I love you too, mom." Sandra grabbed her mother in another hug one more time before feeling herself disappear.
In almost seconds, Sandra's eyes shot open and scanned the room. Her body was laying flat against the table again like earlier, the same men from before surrounding her. "B-back off." She stuttered, feeling extremely weak.
When the men didn't move at all, Sandra groaned and managed to grab one of their costs with her hand since it was right there. "I said ba-back off." She stuttered again, looking up at the man she grabbed.
He simply just yanked away his coat and continued to do whatever it was that he was doing. The men were working on sticking multiple iv's into Sandra when multiple gunshots sounded and they all dropped to the ground.
"If you killed them you may as well take a shot at me too." She said softly, although she was hoping it would've sounded tougher.
Instead of seeing a scary murderer appear ready to kill her, she was relieved to see Bucky. "Sandy, it's alright." He said, a look of relief in his eyes. "Come on, let's get you out of here."
"Buck how the hell did you find me?" She asked as Bucky worked to unlock the metal clasps that held her down.
Bucky sighed and got one of them un done. "Well, someone sent Steve a photo of you tied down and said we had 24hours to come get you. The idiot kept the location details on the photo when they sent it."
Sandra nodded, feeling that both of her hands were free from the clasps. With that being done, she began ripping out each of the iv's that were in her, scrunching her eyes to ease the pain.
"Alright there's no way we are getting in the jet with you wearing that." Bucky said, handing her what she was wearing before. "Put these on, there's only one way out of this place."
Sandra nodded, using whatever energy she had left to put the clothes on. "Your not going to question why my hairs black?" She asked with a small smirk.
"Nope." Bucky smirked. "Because your coming to the compound with us and your resting. No more running away for a while."
Sandra nodded, leaning on Bucky's shoulder so she could get down from the table easier. "Alright, let's go." She said, limping her way over to the door or the laboratory she was in.
Opening the door, Sandra was met with the same woman that kidnapped her in the first place; a gun in her hands pointing right at her.
The sound of the gun firing echoed through the whole area, along with the sound of Sandra falling to the ground. Bucky ran over since he was still near the lab table.
"I would've went for the head, but we will be needing you in the future." She said, smirking at Sandra who laid on the ground.
Bucky's face free with rage as he shot at the woman, hitting her in the exact spot she hit Sandra. The woman also fell to the ground, her gun falling farther away. "Oo, the winter soldier." The woman smirked, although she was bleeding out.
Sandra groaned as Bucky knelt down and lifted her up. He used his metal arm to apply pressure to the new wound she had, trying to prevent any more blood loss.
"What was that sound?" Natasha asked over their earpieces.
"Someone tell Bruce to be ready at the compound." Bucky spoke to his earpiece. "Sandys hit.. in way too many spots. We are in our way out the front, keep it clear."
"On it."
Sandra leaned her body into Bucky's as she tried her best not to cry. This pain was terrible. Nothing she's ever felt before. It's probably because her serum was literally sucked out of her.
"Buck it hurts." She groaned, not even noticing that they were going through the room where everyone else was fighting.
Bucky nodded, adjusting his right arm to make her more comfortable. "I know sand, try to ignore the pain." He said, going through the main doors and exiting the facility. "We will be back soon, alright?"
Sandra nodded. "They took my serum." She said, "I wouldn't be in so much pain if I fought back. It's all my fault."
"No no, sandy this isn't your fault." Bucky said, sitting down on the quinjet with Sandra in his lap. "Look at me, your ok."
Sandra nodded again, her eyes meeting Bucky's calming blue ones. She felt at peace for the few seconds before everyone else started to get into the jet.
She could see Steve sit down across from her and Bucky, almost being able to hear his internal panic. Or that could've just been her panicking.
