Sandra was slow when she made her way back to the compound, knowing that if she drove fast, she would crash from all the tears in her eyes. It took her about an hour to get back, seeing all of the government officials were completely gone from the compound as well.

"There you are! I've been waiting to-" Steve said as Sandra moped into the compound. He stopped the second he saw her face. "Sandy what happened? You alright?"

Sandra shook her head and hardly collapsed to the floor before Steve stood and caught her. "Come on, tell me. You can trust me." He said, holding her up straight.

"P-Peggy's de-dead.." she cried, hugging her brother tightly as she began to cry even more. "I-I was there and she just- she gave me a hug and died in my arms."

Steve sighed, holding Sandra as she completely fell apart. He figured that she probably didn't notice that Tony was sitting there, knowing she would've kept her emotions in more if she did.

"I'm sorry Steve.. I-I know your mad at me right now from whatever the hell has been going on lately." Sandra said, pulling away and wiping her eyes. She noticed Tony sitting there too and gave him a soft smile. "Thank you for telling me to go see her.."

Tony nodded. "Of course. I wish it didn't happen so soon though." He said, patting her shoulder and walking away.

Sandra knew he was taking it a little hard too. He grew up knowing that he always had his aunt peg and Sandra to go to for help, even though Sandra wasn't ever really around.

"Do you uh- you know where Bucky is?" Sandra asked Steve as she wiped her tears.

Steve nodded. "Yes, but I need to talk to you." He said, sitting down and motioning for Sandra to sit next to him. Once she sat down, he began to speak. "We were able to find where the rest of your files are. But they're being protected behind locked doors by a set of winter soldiers. We thought that was all the protection they had of the building but then we got attacked by the security guards."

Sandra sighed and shook her head. "Don't you dare tell me Bucky's dead Steven." She said.

Steve shook his head. "No, he just took a few hits so he's in his room getting rest. Bruce said it would just be sore, so he's fine." Steve said, motioning his head down the hallway to where the elevator was. "Go see him, your too much of a mess for me to fix."

"Wow Steven, throwing me away?" She joked, sniffling and wiping the continuous tears that fell down her face. "will you be ok?"

Steve nodded. "I'll survive" he said, standing up and hugging Sandra one more time before she went up to Bucky. "I'll be alright, I promise."

Sandra stood in front of Bucky's bedroom door, gently knocking on it before twisting the door handle open. "Buck you in here?" She asked, peeking her head inside before fully coming in.

"I'm right here, doll." He said from his bed, laying there wrapped in blankets. "Where have you been?" He asked.

Sandra frowned and sat on his bed next to him, taking his metal hand in her flesh one. "I was visiting peg.. and she uh- she passed."

Bucky sat up, although he immediately regretted it after feeling a surge of pain. "Oh, sand.." he said pulling her closer and wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

Sandra held Bucky tightly as she cried into his shoulder. It felt like her heart was ripped from her chest and just thrown away. Peggy meant more to her than she could imagine.

Peggy and Howard were the only two people that she could safely keep in contact with over the past few decades. They kept her safe and alive, and gave her help when she needed it most.

Now both of them were gone.

"Promise you won't leave me." Sands cried into Bucky's shoulder.

Bucky nodded and rubbed her back. "I promise. I'm not going anywhere, and neither is Steve." He said, moving his head and kissing her cheek. "Come on, stay in here with me tonight. I'll keep you company."

Sandra nodded her head as she pulled away from Bucky, seeing the big wet stain she left in his shirt. "Sorry Buck." She said, looking at the stain.

Bucky shrugged and pulled the shirt off. "Don't worry about it. I've got a bunch of shirts that look exactly like that one." He laughed, trying to get up to pick out a fresh shirt.

He was surprised when Sandra pulled him back, holding his hand. "Just stay. It's just me, nothing I haven't seen before." She said, a small smirk on her face.

Bucky nodded his head as he smiled, laying back down under the covers. Sandra snuggled close, trying to avoid anywhere he might've been hurt.

"Buck, what are we?" She asked, finally becoming comfortable in the bed. "Because I don't think there's been a night where I haven't slept in the same bed as you."

Bucky smiled and ran his fingers along her back. "We can be whatever your comfortable with. I haven't stopped loving you, so take whatever you want from that."

A smile formed on Sandra's face as she heard those words, the girl lifting her head to look up at bucky. "I haven't stopped loving you either, James." She said, their faces becoming extremely close together. "How about we pick up where we left off?"

Bucky smiled and nodded his head, breaking the space between them and kissing Sandra. His cold heralded hand reached up and held her cheek as their lips stayed connected, an electric feeling neither of them have felt in years.

"God I've missed you Bucky Barnes." Sandra sighed, looking into his blue eyes.

"And I've missed you, Kassandra Rogers." He said, smirking as she made a face at him.

"I hate my full name, Bucky." She said, raising an eyebrow. "Or should I say James Bucha-"

Bucky kissed her again just to shut her up, smirking as he pulled away. "Your full name is beautiful, I love it." He said, both of them laying back down now. "Get some rest, this is going to be a long torturous week."

"I hate it when your right."
