While returning back from Delhi Airport, my sister called and said she is in Agra and she wanted to meet me urgently. I looked at the time and agreed to meet her late evening as it takes approximately 4 hours' drive from Delhi Airport to Agra. Since I had my car parked at the airport parking lot, I decided to drive, because as matter of fact I loved driving. While driving Ridhi called and we started to talk which eventually turned into a heated argument.
'Listen Ridhi, what is your problem? I told you that I won't be a hindrance to your dreams... and about having children... it will only happen when you decide to have one. I can wait... I am not a despo...' 'it is not only about that Abhi... I told you I don't want to live in a joint family... I just can't tolerate your family but act as though I am nice to them. I want to live without any hindrance.' 'what do you mean? You're saying that my family is a problem now, is that so? How could you even think about that when they are being so supportive of you?' 'I don't want to be in a big family... I just hate that!' 'watch what you are saying, Ridhi... Is this the reason you used an unknown number to spread lies about you? Are you even in your right mind? Only a madwoman would do that! Tarnishing own reputation in front of her to be husband.'
She kept quiet a while before gasping and saying, 'so you knew... well since that's the case let me be honest with you. He is my boyfriend and we have been dating for the past 18 months. And you came in between... actually I was just playing around with you just to make Amar jealous and he confessed his feelings towards me... but before I clear things without being blamed you and your idiotic family came up with this marriage thing... I just couldn't process whatever happened. I can't even tell my family as they are rather conservative.'
Let me tell you that, even now I called you to cancel all wedding arrangements because I found out that I... I w was pregnant! I can't tell anybody about my pregnancy. At first, I thought to carry on with the marriage and later after a month or two could fake my pregnancy, but thinking about living with your family, made me shudder. Then I realized that when there are other ways to handle it, why should I choose the hardest way? I have aborted the baby and now I am going to carry on with my usual life. We are not ready for this baby, yet. I am sorry I can't do this anymore. My only request to you never utter a single word to my family.'
With that, she hung the phone. Suddenly I felt my visions blurred and I hit a six feet long speeding lorry which carried metals and iron rods. The last I could remember before falling into deep slumber was so much pain while whispering 'Pari.'
