Chapter 33

All the way to the hospital, Abhimanyu was thinking and contemplating how to deflate the threats lingering around his wife. He first called his friends cum colleagues Karan and Tarun to find out about her so-called suitor-cousin and monitor his recent activities as Abhimanyu very much felt the urge to 'fix' him in every aspect. Also, he instructed another colleague of his to monitor her family's activities as he doesn't want to leave any stones unturned. He couldn't digest the fact that her own family is plotting against her. He understood that her father is remorseful for his inhumane acts, but he can't promise about others. Right now all he wants is his wife's safety and her to be in a good health. Whilst reaching the hospital, he made calls to inform his family about their arrival and Nidhi's health condition and also to pre-book a VIP hospital ward for his wife. He doesn't want any procrastination in his wife's matter. He doesn't compromise her health and safety. 

By the time he reached the hospital, he was informed that her discharge sheets are ready and he could clear the bills as he knew insurance doesn't cover pregnancy issues. He settled all the bills and his father informed him that a private jet is readily waiting for them for departure. He was glad that his father helped with their travelling as he doesn't have to go through all hassles by booking tickets and waiting for a flight with his unconscious wife. He got all the necessities and he again called Asfandyaar to inform him about their immediate departure and also thanked him for taking care and safeguarding his wife. Asfandyaar just reminded him about her safety and told him he will send Nidhi's belongings in a couple of days. Abhimanyu felt complete after a long time because he has his wife with him now. A sense of relief passed through his body seeing his sleeping wife. Now he has double responsibilities of a husband and a father. Through the scan sonogram, he got to know that they are expecting a pair: a boy and a girl. He never forgets to thank his Lord for bestowing with double happiness. Although he was worried about her, he couldn't help the resurgence of happiness. Now his Pari is with him... with his unborn children, so all he wants to do is to protect her, cherish her and spoil her as much as he wished. 

They travelled back to Dehli and his whole family was there to receive them. He felt overwhelmed, and he knew even Nidhi would have felt the same if she was conscious. Everyone was elated to see Abhimanyu and Nidhi, however, they couldn't stop worrying about her- the youngest daughter-in-law of the Chatterjee's. His mother broke down seeing her unconscious form in a wheelchair. His brother had already got an ambulance waiting for Nidhi;  to transport her straight to the hospital. Abhimanyu followed with her in the ambulance. He never let her hand go even for a second ever since they boarded on the plane. Even at the airport when they were going through the security check he still held her hand. Even when he met with his family, he was still holding her hand as if she will disappear. Everyone present there noticed his possessive hold on his wife's hand. Some were awed, some felt cringy, some felt amused and some were jealous. But Abhimanyu ignored all the stares and kept walking ahead with his wife. He was tired of the constant travelling and all he needed was a good rest and a strong cup of coffee. Upon reaching the hospital, he was clouded by reporters, but he again royally ignored everyone and walked along with the stretcher which carried his wife; still holding her hands. He groaned mentally as he was not in the mood to entertain nonsense. He made a mental note, 'whatever bullshit they sprout, I will handle later.' 

When Nidhi was safely warded, Abhimanyu said he wants to stay with his wife which was cut by his family. 'No Abhi, you're going home and have a good rest. You'll need more energy to face everything and everyone tomorrow. Meanwhile, I will stay with Nidhi here.' Said his second sister-in-law Sitara. 'No, bhabhi. I won't be able to sleep properly even if I go home.' He said looking intently at his wife's sleeping figure. Everyone understood his inner turmoil, but they also can't compromise with his health as he is still in the recovery phase. Just to ease the tense environment, his second sister-in-law teased him, 'oh hello, Romeo. Don't worry... your Juliet is in safe hands. You really need to rest today and from tomorrow you can stay with her... what say?' She raised a single eyebrow multiple times which earned chuckles from everyone. Abhimanyu knew no one will take his side today and even he is really tired to retort back, so he just nodded his head in agreement half-heartedly and went near her sleeping figure, kissed her forehead with a meek take care and went home to rest. Reaching home he took a long relaxing shower, got changed to his sweat pants and fell into a deep slumber.

The next day, he woke up around midday. He felt rejuvenated and got ready for the day. He felt as if his energy has been doubled up. He ate his lunch with his mother and straightaway went to the hospital to see his wife. He knows that his wife would be sleeping another 48 hours as she was put in an induced coma for 4 days minimum. The doctor also informed it may prolong a couple of days more depending on her body's immune. He saw his wife sleeping in serene. She looked rather pale, however, according to the doctor, her vitals are normal and she would wake up within 48 hours. Once she gets her consciousness back, she needs to stay another couple of days to have a further antenatal check-up and if everything is normal, she would be discharged. Abhimanyu was happy to hear that, but he was also nervous to reveal her current whereabouts. He doesn't want her to freak out once she is exposed to the current situation. Albeit he is nervous, he is prepared for her outbursts and mood swings. He knows his family will help him to handle her for his burlesque behaviour.  

After visiting her, he went to his office to meet her ex-suitor to 'fix' him thoroughly. After all, his hands have been aching to 'fix' him physically and break him psychologically. He has sworn that he will show a living hell to those who hurt his wife. His first target was Arav Dalal, her ex-suitor. He read all information about him and nothing was impressive. A spoiled brat of rich parents and nothing else. Knowing his flamboyant nature, nobody wanted to have an alliance with this family, so they chose Nidhi to cover his bitchy nature. If Nidhi was married to this guy, she would have led a problematic marriage life. He was wondering how could her father agreed to this alliance, however, it was briefed that only the Dalal family desired the alliance, not the Sharma's. Upon reaching his office, he pounced his target verbally and physically. He even threatened him not to mess with his wife or he will surely destroy him to ashes. Knowing the mighty Abhimanyu's power and influence, he immediately cowered. But Abhimanyu wasn't satisfied with that. He dragged the whole family to face the law for the atrocities they have committed to Nidhi and also to other people. He made sure he is on the prosecution side, so he could put them behind the bars for their entire lifetime. He will make sure they don't come out from the hell hole... not only bail, but he will also make sure they won't even come out on parole.
