Mokshit and Haya
'Mokshit, this is not right...'
'What is not right, Haya? I like you, and I know you like me, too. There is nothing wrong with it...'
'Why don't you understand the fact that I am older than you?' 'Haya, is this even a reason? Age is just a number, yaar. I will talk to your father. Don't refuse me, please...' 'It bothers me, Mokshit. Don't entertain your infatuation. You will end up heartbroken.' That irked Mokshit a lot. He had told her numerous times that he wasn't just infatuated with her, but she refused to see the truth.
While talking, some boys were making fun of their closeness and passing shrewd comments—that boiled Mokshit's blood. Out of frustration, he beat them blue-black while giving them a murderous glare. Haya had to jump in between so that he wouldn't kill the boys. His ferocious sight terrified Haya a lot. She walked back to her house without saying anything, ignoring his calls and pleas.
Mokshit was determined. This time he will speak to her father. Whatever comes his way, let it come. He has decided to make her his, whether with her consent or not. He knows his parents will adore Haya as much as he adores her. However, he needs to talk about this to his father before approaching his Asfi maamu. He had already presumed what was going to come his way, yet he was least bothered about that.
He spoke to his father before going to Haya's house. 'Are you sure you want this, son?' 'Yes, dad. No turning back. I want her at any cost.' 'But she is a year older to you, son.' Abhimanyu said smirking. He simply wanted to hit the nerve of his son. Mokshit gave a boring not-again-look to his father. 'Not again, dad. We have gone through this numerous times. I don't care about her being a few months elder to me. She is all I want, dad. I can't even imagine any other man as her spouse. It bothers me a lot as maamu has started finding alliances for Haya... MY HAYA.' His voice boomed. Abhimanyu saw the glint of possessiveness in his son's eyes when he was talking about Haya. The fear of losing her was clearly visible in his eyes.
'Go ahead, son. I am with you. I know Asfandyaar will turn into a hulk, but that could be handled. I am going to call your Armeena maami. Only she could tame him. We will face it even if it is Asfandyaar's wrath.' Patting his son's back Abhimanyu called Armeena and told her about Mokshit's intention to marry Haya. He also said that his family has always been adoring Haya as their daughter and that will remain the same. He was practically asking for Haya's hand in marriage for Mokshit and he told her that only she could handle her husband as he is very protective and possessive about his daughter. Understanding the situation, Armeena decided to help the Chatterjee duo as she has always adored Mokshit as a son they didn't have.
While going to Malik's mansion, Abhimanyu told Mokshit that he will definitely support him with all his might, as long as it doesn't bother his Pari. Mokshit understood what his father meant. Everyone knows how Abhimanyu adores his wife and is possessive about her. No matter what happens, his priority will always be his wife. He would choose her in a heartbeat even if it is going against the world. They reached Malik's mansion and were greeted by Asfandyaar himself. 'All the best, son... lagta hai aaj tera maamu kichadi bananeka mood main hain. Jo bhi bolna hai, soch samajh kar bolna. Kyun ki woh zaroor tumse aisa sawaal poochega jiska jawab puri galaxy mein tujhe nehi milegi.' (I think your uncle is in bad mood. So you better think carefully before saying anything to him. That is because he will ask you unpredictable questions to which you can't even find answers in the galaxy.) Abhimanyu smirked while saying those things to Mokshit. He annoyingly glared at his father and got ready to face Asfandyaar as his main concern is his Haya.
Asfandyaar didn't beat around the bush. Alongside Armeena, he started to ambush him with questions. Mokshit could clearly see the love, the possessiveness, the protectiveness, the care, and the fear for his daughter's future in Asfandyaar's eyes. He could see the struggle of a father in giving away his precious daughter and he totally adored that. It reminded him of his father. He smiled softly, walked next to the Malik couple, and held their hands affectionately which startled everyone in the room. Mokshit could feel Asfandyaars guards are slowly falling with his gesture, thence he continued caressing their hands while saying, 'maamu... you daughter is my life. I can't assure you the moon and the stars for your daughter, but I can assure you that she will be in good and safe hands where she will be loved and cherished for the rest of our lives. She will always be my first priority. I want to be her happiness, I want to be her pillar, and trust me when I say this... I will choose her over and over again in a heartbeat even if the whole world stands against her. Yeh vaada hai mera. (I promise you.) Moreover, you clearly know that I don't give empty promises. Be it in my professional life or my personal life. I have always kept my word.'
'I know Haya likes me too, but she is afraid of some things such as age difference, society, and family. She doesn't want to disappoint her parents, especially you, maamu. She wants you to be proud of her. She is willing to sacrifice anything for your happiness. I know she will reject me without a second thought if you say no to this alliance. That is the reason why I came to you. Please maamu... Don't reject me... I will take very good care of her.' He pleaded at the end. Armeena was moved by his heartfelt confession and she gave her consent, but she knew Asfandyaar wouldn't budge easily, therefore she took the matter in her hands and spoke to her husband. She dragged him inside their room and said, 'what makes you sit all dumb there? The boy has clearly shown what our daughter meant to him. Even we can't find such a nice boy for Haya.' Asfi just glared at his wife and said, 'I know my daughter. She wouldn't go against my word. Her fears are somehow right. He is younger than her and they both belong to two different religions.'
'So that's what bothers you? That he is younger than her... but he is more mature than your daughter. And about religion, had he ever bothered your daughter with such a concept? Do you know that he has a qibla in his room and other rooms because he believed that one day Haya will be living with him as his wife and he prepared everything in advance?' Asfandyaar's eyes became like sorcerers with the new revelation. 'If you are going to ask me how do I know then the answer is... he always calls and for Haya's liking to me. Do you know that even your daughter likes him? Actually, she loves him. But she won't admit it because she is afraid it might hurt you. Stop overthinking and respect the youngsters' feelings. Don't hurt with your uncertain fears. He is her happiness. She is his happiness. I have seen it in their eyes. Don't break their hearts and their trust in us.' Saying that she left him alone to think. She came out and apologized as she dragged him inside abruptly while still having guests around. She openly gave her consent again and she knew her husband will give his consent, too. He just needs some time to accept it.
After 1 month...
Qubool hai... Qubool hai... Qubool hai... with that they announced as man and wife for the second time. Two days before they got married in a traditional Hindu way. Finally, she was officially, traditionally, wholly his to love, protect and cherish. Haya was happy that now she is truly his... her husband Mokshit Chatterjee. Though she wasn't vocal about her feelings, she knew that she loved Mokshit a lot. She knew it was kind of forbidden, but she couldn't stop falling for him. After Mokshit spoke to her parents, her father spoke to her and gave his blessings for her marriage with Mokshit. She was elated and overwhelmed. She always knew Mokshit will do anything for her, but she didn't expect him to talk to her father knowing what kind of wrath he might have faced.
Asfandyaar wasn't convinced easily. But he knew his daughter would be happy if she marries Mokshit. Therefore, he agreed to the marriage but not before blowing a couple of punches on Mokshit's face. Mokshit accepted all blows without any protest. He even stopped his father from intervening. After Asfandyaar calmed down a little, Armeena bluntly said, 'now he is really ready to be a husband.' Her blunt statement made the tension around at ease as Abhimanyu and Asfandyaar started laughing hysterically. Before seeing them off, Asfandyaar apologized for his ghastly behavior to both Chatterjee men to which Abhimanyu joked, 'come on Asfandyaar! Yeh toh sasur ka shagun hai.' (It's a dowry from his father-in-law.) And again laughter erupted.
She came back to the present when they notified her husband's presence in the room. With that, everybody left them alone not before teasing them to death. When Mokshit neared her, Haya checked his wounds under his chin. 'Are you alright? Does it hurt?' She asked while her eyes were moist. He held his wife's hand affectionately and kissed her lips passionately saying, 'it's all worth it Mrs. Haya Mokshit Chatterjee.' His smile as always melted her heart and Mokshit didn't wait for a second to consummate his marriage. He has been waiting for it ever since their registry of marriage...
