Abhimanyu's POV
'Huh! Finally, I made it and justice won. I have always wanted the farmers to have a better life and these heartless corporate morons always make the farmers' life hell. I really feel good when the farmers got their lands back. After so many protestations, arguments and hearings we managed to convince the law about farmers' rights on that particular acre's land. The gratitude and appreciation show how much they have trusted with something important and precious to them. I feel really contented.'
After finishing with the case, I took some rest staying in Shimla exploring the place and its beauty. This place is indeed so heavenly and beautiful. It gives so much calm and serenity. Not really busy like Mumbai and Delhi. Less traffic and less pollution. It is so much peaceful here. However, at the same time my mind was lingering with the thoughts of Ridhi, 'what will she be doing now? Is she single or already taken? Is she the dream girl I am looking for? But the ways she speaks and the way she shows her attitude definitely show that she will fit into the huge bucket list I have for my dream girl. Well, right now, I can only hope for the best, yet, her nonchalant behavior intrigues me to know more about her personally.
Now I am on my way going back to Delhi. My mother has called me abundance of time to ask my whereabouts and I have been literally ignoring her calls because I don't like to be disturbed while I am driving. I enjoy driving a lot and it is my hobby, too. Since I remain busy most of the time, I don't get proper time to practice at any circuit, so I usually drive wherever I go. I don't like taking flights, not because of money issues, or fright issues, but I simply like driving. I also love playing badminton but nowadays I am getting busier and I don't really have time to play.
Being so lost in thoughts I lost my balance in driving, too. My bad that I didn't realize a girl crossing the road and she was panicked to see my car screeching loudly and uncontrollably to hit her, however, in the nick of time I managed to swift the steering. The swift should have been in a force though as I was slowly losing my conscious and all I could hear was 'hey hold on...speak to me... can you hear me? Are you with me??? Don't close your eyes... please...please...please...' More than her pleadings, her smell and touch comforted me. Soon darkness engulfed me. When I opened my eyes, I saw white surrounding and the doctors narrated what had happened to me and were having a thorough check-up of my body. When they were satisfied with his reports, they discharged me. The duty doctor who looked after me for the whole 24 hours informed me that there was a girl who admitted me saying as my acquaintance to avoid unnecessary formalities. She was the one who donated her blood immediately during an emergency. In addition, she also left a note for him. It says:
Dear stranger,
Your belongings were put at the admission locker, so please get them back from the staffs before heading out. I have listed the things I passed to them;
1. Your wallet (it had 3 credit cards, 5 debit cards, identification card, and numerous business cards)
2. Your mobile phone (there were few missed calls and I answered your mother's call. I informed her about your little encounter with nature. She was panicked but I assured her you're okay and she was relieved)
3. Your beautiful white shirt
4. Your car keys
5. Your backpack
p/s: your car is fixed with no fatal damages. Make sure you have a safe journey home. Take care and safe drive.
Commoner
The note had her smell. I don't remember her face but I could clearly remember her smell. I smiled at the commoner's cuteness. Somehow, I owe her. I just prayed to god that I will meet her one day and show my gratitude for saving my life. While heading out to the hospital's entrance I saw her... Ridhi. My steps halted seeing her shocked. She's a doctor... interesting! Without thinking much, I approached her.
'Dr. Ridhi' I called. She stopped and turned. She frowned her brows, 'do we know each other?' 'you indeed have a very poor memory, miss.' She looked confused and a bit annoyed when I said that. 'excuse me???' 'you're excused... we met a couple of days ago in Chandigarh at a Dhaaba... You were arguing over some and you even turned down my help...' She was in deep thinking and after a while, her face was lit up with a sarcastic smirk, 'Mr. Sexy Lawyer. Are you stalking me, by the way, or came here all the way to find a case to fight?'
I was taken aback by the way she retorted, but I couldn't help smiling an idiot. 'no Ms. Doctor, I was a patient here till 20 minutes ago. Now heading back home.' While we're talking one of her friends from far suddenly exclaimed, 'OMG you're the most famous lawyer-preneur, Abhimanyu Chatterjee, right? You look so handsome in person.' She said. After a little chit-chat session, we head back to our destination.
Ridhi is a trainee doctor there as she is doing her house-man ship in that hospital. She is going to finish in 4 months' time and waiting to join a renowned city hospital as a physician. Most importantly she is single and is not yet taken. Between these conversations I managed to get her phone numbers, so he can get to know her personally. Ridhi was a fun girl to talk to and he knew they can really get along well.
