Chapter 26

With so much determination, he got ready to undergo the surgery. He wanted to sort out the differences he created. He was under the influence of sedatives. But in his semi-conscious state, he heard her melodious voice, 'take care, Abhimanyu! I love you so much. He felt her soft lips kissing his forehead. He also felt teardrops on his cheek before darkness consumed him. His surgery was successful. His family was briefed about his health. When Nidhi's parents were there, his parents asked about both girls which his sister answered that they were both busy. However, Radhika and her husband still felt gloomy though they were elated about his successful surgery.

He was still put under observation and his eye bandage wasn't removed as his eyes need some time to recover from his internal injuries. Days passed him and he grew impatient. He was urging the doctors to release him to meet his wife and apologize to her. She didn't visit him at all. She just went missing and he couldn't stay in peace because it's been months since he had spoken to his wife. That really worried him. He knew his apologies wouldn't justify what he did to her, but he wouldn't quit before trying. He knows his Pari, she won't keep grudges, that's not her nature. 

First I need to speak to his sister and brother-in-law about us, about our blunder. I want to see her for that I need to have my eye bandage removed. I immediately called my di to talk. 'Di... I need to talk to you and jiju... but first, tell me where is Nidhi? I need to...' his talk was cut off by his jiju, 'she is not here anymore. Even her parents are not aware of her whereabouts. Now you tell me, where is she? Where is your wife? What happened between you two?' He shot him questions, which caught both sister and brother off guard. He was shocked because his wife's missing, but his sister's shock was a whole new level at the revelation of his brother's marriage with Nidhi.

Both were quiet for some time and his sister broke the silence, 'when did you both get married? Why hid it?' 'I was a fool to force her into this marriage, di. She was reluctant but I made her agree to this marriage.' 'Why did you do so, Abhimanyu?' Seeing him all quiet, she raised her voice, 'why the heck did you do it? Answer me!!' His sister roared. She was shaking in rage. She couldn't believe her brother did such a thing. 'Di... di...' 'Tell me, Abhimanyu.' 'Di... I did that because I had already married her by law without her knowledge a few months prior to the wedding. The next moment, a slapping sound echoed in the room followed by another one. Radhika slapped her brother and her husband was holding her back when she raised her hand again. Nevertheless, Abhimanyu didn't budge from his place. He knew he deserved more than the slap.

Now all his concern was his wife. He couldn't hear anything that his sister said. His thoughts were lingering around his wife. He was contemplating begging her forgiveness and lead a happy life with her; everything was spoiled because of his wife's disappearance. He felt so lost and broken again with her not being around even without knowing her whereabouts. He is ardent that he would be able to find her. He was somehow very sure that his wife was not anywhere near, however, he knew he would certainly find her no matter where she resides. He knew things had gone beyond wrong. He needs to mend it before it becomes irreparable.
