Chapter 10

When she was about to come out of the room she was stopped by his sister-Radhika. She was equally shocked, hurt and disappointed with Ridhi's behaviour. She never expected this from her. Albeit Ridhi is Abhimanyu's fiancée, but Radhika was rather attached to Nidhi as she always found her easy to talk and selfless. Nidhi was battling with her inner turmoil on how to handle such a big blunder created by her sister. She didn't find any words to say, console or convince everyone with Ridhi's decision. She felt so blank and was unable to think or process whatever nonsense her sister uttered.

When Nidhi stood there all blank unable to utter anything, Radhika initiated to address the issue. 'So now she is backing off with this alliance just because of my brother's physical condition. Tell me one thing Nidhi, did she ever love Abhimanyu?' The question startled Nidhi. She clearly knew what kind of mess her sister has created. But she really hoped that her sister will come around after some days. She will definitely talk about it to her till she gets a proper solution for it. All she could say was, 'Radhika di, please don't take it the other way round. I will talk to her to mend things before getting out of hand.'

'Before getting out of hand? Are you dumb Nidhi? It has already gone out of hand. I never expected such insolent behaviour from your sister. I can clearly sense infidelity. It is high time for her and for my brother... but what has your sister done?' 'Di, please... I know my sister messed up a big-time, but trust me she'll come around once someone knocks some sense in her head. Until then, please di... please don't tell anyone. 

I know right now I might sound nonsense but please di, this is for everybody's well-being. Especially both side elders and Abhimanyu. I beg you, di. Please do me this favour.' Radhika was rather taken aback by her nonstop tears. She could see Nidhi is trying to fix things; considering everybody's well-being. She stayed quiet for a while and then said, 'Okay, Nidhi, as you said I will not tell anything to my parents at least till Abhimanyu's recovery, but if I don't see any improvement on this matter, I will surely inform the elders. They have all the rights to know about their children's life decisions.' Saying that she stormed out of the place.

Weeks flew in a wink. There wasn't much progress in changing Ridhi's decision. She seemed too hell-bent to break this alliance. Yet, Nidhi didn't give up with her tries and pleas.  Nidhi became a regular visitor to his ward. She spent most of her time with Abhimanyu. He on the other hand became very difficult to handle. His self-esteem declined in a massive drop to which he ill-behaved and became very mean to others. He felt as if he is crippled permanently. He started to become violent and at times, it became hard to tame him. Only his sister could handle him that too with a lot of difficulties. But one day she realised how Nidhi handled him. Without much persuasion, he obeyed everything like an obedient child. Her one lie that day had changed his and her life tremendously. Oblivion about the future they played along with the flow. After seeing that she discussed it with his doctors, and Radhika contemplated a plan to help her brother, but for that, she needs to get Nidhi's help and permission.

With much hesitation, she approached Nidhi and asked for the help that she was contemplating. Nidhi was shocked and scared at first but after long seems logical persuasion she agreed to help Radhika and help to cure him.
