It was the next day. I spent all day yesterday watching the soldiers train, and taking mental notes for myself. And I spent a good portion of my night studying magic yet again. I've managed to lift even more objects now. Once I get the hang of it, it's really starting to get easier.
"Hello," I chirped as I came bounding in.
"Emberlynn, nice to see you." Ray smiled at me kindly. "What was it that you wanted to talk about?"
"Oh, right! I was kind of hoping that I could help out around here, since you guys have been so nice to me." I smiled at the two guys hopefully.
"Sure," Sirius said. "These books are a mess, do you think you organize them?"
"Of course!" I took a look at the books that were on the desk. They were all military stuff that sounds kind of boring, to be honest. "How do you want them organized?"
"Alphabetically by last name should be fine," Sirius said as he took a seat and started reading some documents.
Ray nodded to me as he went outside to do his own business.
"Got it!" And with that, I tied my hair up and got to work, sorting things out. I was tempted to hum to myself, but I didn't want to disturb Sirius as he worked.
"Sirius, I got a question," Fenrir suddenly said, bursting in through the door.
"Keep the unruly behaviour to a minimum, you brat. As in, don't break down the door." Sirius glared at Fenrir, but I knew he wasn't that angry.
"A twenty year old man aint a brat, old man," Fenrir huffed.
"And a twenty one year old gentleman aint an old man."
I couldn't help but smile at the two boys' bickering. It reminded me of some fights I would've gotten into with my brother back in the days. And now I sound old.
"Yeah, yeah," Fenrir said, rolling his eyes. "Anyways, I wanna strengthen my troops. Which of the new recruits are good with guns?"
"Michael, Jack, and Henry," Sirius said, turning back to his reading. "Luka's been training the new recruits."
"Thanks! I'll check in with him." Fenrir prepared to leave, before he suddenly turned to me. "Oh, and you should remember this, Emberlynn."
"Hm?" I tilted my head to the side as Fenrir went on.
"If you need to know anything about anyone, just go to Sirius. See ya!" And with that, the energetic guy was off to find Luka.
I nodded my head, even though Fenrir had already left, and turned back to my book organizing. And this one is K, so it goes over here.

Two hours later, everything in the study Sirius was reading in was all organized and cleaned up, so he took me to the kitchen.
"Seth, Luka. I've got Emberlynn here with me."
"Hello," I smiled, waving at the two in the kitchen. I can't let Sirius know how clumsy and distracted I get with knives. "Anything I can help you with?"
"Emberlynn," Luka grinned when he saw me. "Perfect! I could use an extra hand here."
I beamed up at the young male. "I can't wait to see you cook!"
"And I'm in charge of taste testing," Seth piped in.
"Well then, I'll be heading out now." Sirius patted me on the head with a smile. "You can ask Luka and Seth what to do."
"Kay!" I waved bye to Sirius as he headed out somewhere before turning back around to the two guys. "So, what can I help you with?"
Luka helped me around the kitchen as he directed me on what to do. We all chatted happily together as we worked, until a piercing scream cut through the cheerful air.
