I could feel the wind blowing through my hair, the slight drizzle that fell on my face like pinpricks. Opening my eyes, I saw myself back in dreamland. The flowers and plants really were being tossed around now, the wind should be strong enough to lift me up, yet I'm still glued to the spot.
The storm was coming closer, again. And I could see faint trails of smoke and ashes rising above the forest line as well. On the wind, I could smell the rainwater, I could feel the storm, yet I also felt an unnatural heat. I also smell something burning.
As I looked around me, I wanted to move. I tried to move, but my feet were stuck to the ground, like iron boots. Eventually, I managed to turn around behind me to the tree.
It was swaying dangerously in the wind, about to be pulled out of its shell right out of the ground. I wanted to rush over and help the tree, I wanted to keep it stable. But as I reached towards the giant plant, there was a swirl of purple and blues before I woke up with a gasp.
Rubbing my eyes, I looked around me. I was back in the lounge, where I fell asleep yesterday. But that warm, comforting presence was gone. I wanted it back.
Looking around, I saw a giant indent beside me where Sirius probably was, but it was empty. A simple gray blanket was wrapped around me tightly, keeping me warm in the meantime.
"Good morning," I heard a familiar voice say.
I smiled up at Sirius as he walked in, apron over his neck and spatula in one hand. "Hello."
"Go and get yourself washed up, I'm making breakfast."
"Mmkay," I mumbled, still very sleepy. I let out a long yawn before heading to the bathrooms to get myself ready for this morning.
Once I was decently prepared, I bounced back into the lounge, only to find an extravagant meal of waffles and pancakes filled with whipped cream and fruits laid out on one of the tables.
"Woah," I gasped as I plopped onto the soft seats, the blanket folded beside me neatly. "This looks beautiful! Did you make it all from scratch?"
Sirius smiled and nodded his head as I gobbled down the delicious, creamy foods. God, this was delicious! How is this level of yumminess possible?!
All of a sudden, Sirius said something I didn't expect at all. "I'm sorry... for last night. I know I was a bother."
I paused mid bite to frown at Sirius' solemn face. A bother? What was he talking about? The fact that he was an adorable mess when he was drunk?
"I don't know what you're talking about," I announced decidedly as I stuffed more food into my mouth. "All I know was that you were a giant, oversized teddy bear last night, who loved cuddles!"
Sirius blinked a bit before giving me a wry smile. "You think I'm a giant, oversized teddy bear?"
"Yup!" I beamed up at him as I stuffed more food into my mouth. "You know, I really didn't mind it. You weren't a bother at all. In fact, I kind of wish you'd be like that more often."
"Oh?" Sirius raised an eyebrow at me as he leaned in closer. "You want more cuddles, little lady?" That mischievous glint was in his eyes again, those beautiful amethyst orbs.
"Maybe," I pouted, looking off to the side. "But mostly because you're really not that much older than me, Sirius. You shouldn't feel the need to act like such an old man all the time! Let loose, every once in a while!"
Sirius gave me a lopsided smile. "You really need to watch your words, little lady," he said as he gently tapped my nose with a wink. "Who knows, I might get the wrong idea."
