"So," I said, leaning my head back against the soft cushions of the carriage as it rolled along calmly. "You guys are military leaders or something?"
Sirius and Luka nodded their heads. "I'm the Queen of Spades, and Luka is the Jack."
I nodded my head for a moment before pausing. I had to stifle a giggle as an image popped into my head. "Wait, Queen?"
Luka cocked his head curiously. "Yes, Sirius is the Queen. What's so funny?"
"Nothing, nothing," I said, hiding my smile in my hair as I giggled to myself. "I just can't imagine Sirius dressed in a gown, parading around in a tiara."
I placed a hand over my mouth as soon as I accidentally revealed my thoughts. I glanced up to gauge Sirius and Luka's reaction. While Luka was slightly blushing at the thought, Sirius had an amused twinkle in his pretty violet eyes.
"Who knows," he said, playing along. "Maybe I'll look good in a dress. What color do you think it should be?"
I opened my mouth to voice my opinions, until I saw how Sirius and Luka tensed up. While I was facing forwards as the carriage went along, they were facing backwards.
"What is it," I asked, turning my head to see a bunch of Red Army soldiers charging over on horseback. There weren't as many as before, but that's still a lot.
I froze as I listened to Sirius and Luka's talking.
"They pretended to retreat only to attack now? That doesn't seem like the Red Army at all," Sirius mused.
"Fenrir is rushing into battle, Seth right behind him," Luka commented.
I bit my lip silently, glancing back again and again to see the approaching army. Sure enough, I could see a head of magenta hair and a blue ponytail running towards the people clad in white.
"Luka, formation C," Sirius said, the amusement that was on his face before vanishing completely. It was instead replaced with a calm, cold facade. "Inform the others."
"Roger that." As soon as Luka finished talking, he opened up the carriage door, jumping through the wind and onto a nearby horse running alongside the vehicle.
I watched with curiosity as Luka went to the soldiers, telling them the plan. Sirius carefully shut the door before I could fall out and crack my skull open.
I don't think that the reality of the situation had settled into my mind yet as I watched the people I just met start to fight. I felt disconnected from my body and mind, or something.
"So," Sirius said, and I whipped my gaze back at him. "What kind of dress do you think will suit me?"
I blinked for a moment, letting the question register before I started thinking. "Oh, well, hm." I tapped my chin thoughtfully as I eyed Sirius up and down. "Maybe purple? To match your eyes? Or maybe a blue dress with purple jewels. Yeah, I bet that'll look good!"
Sirius smiled at me as I talked, and I was having fun thinking of a dress that would suit someone like him, until I heard an unfamiliar voice shout.
"Over here, we got them!"
I peeked outside a bit at the triumphant tone, only to see a bunch of Red soldiers on horseback, right beside the carriage.
"This is our chance to capture her and prove our honor to King Lancelot!"
Wait, Lance's name is Lancelot? So Lance is just a nickname?
"Well," Sirius asked, pulling my attention back to him. "A blue dress and purple jewels?"
