"Ray, Fenrir," I called out, running up to the two men and hugging them tightly. "You're alive!"
Ray and Fenrir chuckled, patting my back.
"Of course we're alive," Ray said with a smile. "The cake you sent us was delicious though. You need to bake something for us again sometime."
"Sure," I beamed as I pulled away. "All I'll need will be your preferences, and I'll have a perfect birthday cake for each of you!"
Fenrir gave me a wry smile. "You sure you'll be able to bake us all a cake for our birthdays?"
"Why not? No one said anything about banning me from visiting!"
Yearly visits to Cradle, here I come! As soon as my dad figures out that I can hold my own out in the world, and as soon as Amon is home, the yearly visits should come back on!
"By the way, how did you enchant those crystals," Ray asked as we regrouped with Sirius, Luka, and Seth in the lounge.
"A friend did it," I hummed. "I owe him one, but it was worth it!"
Ray's eyebrows raised slightly at the mention of another male, but he didn't say anything.
"Sirius, did anything happen while I was gone," Ray asked as we came up to the tall guy.
"I harvested a good crop of angula," he shrugged. "End of report."
"In other words, everything is okay. That's good." Ray let out a sigh of relief.
"Is it true you guys made it as far as the Red Bridge?" I heard rumors here and there in the shadows, but I wanted first hand confirmation.
"That's right," Ray smiled. "At this rate, we'll win the war for sure."
I nodded my head with a smile. I was happy, but I can't help but feel sympathy for the Red Army as well. We were in the position of loss too at some point, and I understood how hopeless the situation may feel. Sure, the Red Army never advanced as far as our Black Bridge, but if they did... the atmosphere will be even more helpless.
This is why I hate war. Why can't both sides just talk it out. There was probably some sort of misunderstanding that happened. Lancelot didn't say anything at the meetings, but that doesn't mean he's not hiding something.
Then there's Dalim, following Lance around. Why? Do they work together? Do they work for each other? Do they work for the same boss? Dalim refused to say anything about his connections with the Red Army, other than the fact that both him, the Red Army, and the Magic Tower disciples are just pawns in a greater ploy.
But then, what's the big plan? Who's the big mastermind? What's going on? Why can't Dalim say anything?
And Amon. Where was he? Dalim says he's doing fine, but that doesn't mean anything. I want to find him and check him out for myself. Yeah, I believe Dalim, but I would much rather see things with my own eyes.
Why did Dalim say that Amon was dangerous? My brother wouldn't harm anyone or anything, he hates violence as much as I do. So what gives? What's going on? What's the master plan and the mastermind behind it all?
Why can't Dalim just make my life easier and just tell me everything!? I'm already here, there's gotta be something that I can do to help!
For now, I guess the best I can do is make the most of my situation.
"Hey, since we're all together now," I said, standing up. "I have a little game we can play!"
Everyone turned to look at me curiously as I hurried out and got a tray full of desserts. Coming back in, I held it up with a beam.
