The next day, I finally got a full night's rest and I was so energized and rejuvenated, I felt as though I could tend to all the wounded soldiers without even flinching!
"Good morning," I chirped as I pranced into Ray's office.
"Oh, Emberlynn," Ray said, looking up. "You're awake. You look way better today."
I nodded my head, my mind drifting to Sirius. "Yeah, Sirius forced me to sleep early today."
"More like you fainted right in my arms," Sirius argued as he came up behind me.
"Alice fainted," I heard a familiar voice shriek.
"Seth!" I ran up and hugged the blue-haired male tightly. "You're back! You're okay!!"
Seth beamed down at me, dangling my good luck charm in front of him. "Your charms did wonders! No one near me, Luka, or Fenrir got hurt! I guess you really put your soul into these, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess," I smiled as I gently took the charm, examining for any scratches.
Sure enough, a few of the layers of spells were broken. The Red Army must be using pretty advanced stuff to cause this much damage in so little time. They barely scratched the good parts though. I had gotten lazier as the night had gone on, so the layers that were cracked were the ones that I didn't put my all into.
Still, I healed it all up, adding a small absorption spell with it as the guys talked strategy. With this spell, the lucky charm will absorb all magic thrown at it, like a sponge. And if I focus hard enough, I'll be able to access it.
I'll also be able to access all the other lucky charms and place the spells on as well, since I'm so full of energy and ready to tackle anything that the world throws at me.
"Emberlynn, you listening," Ray asked, snapping me out of my plans.
"Oh! No, sorry!" I smiled sheepishly as I handed the charm back to Seth. "Here, all fixed up!"
"Fixed up," Seth asked, cocking his head.
I froze for a moment before forcing myself to relax. "Uh, yeah! Fixed up. I added even more of my soul into it. It'll surely give you even more good luck now!"
It wasn't a lie, technically. Magic comes from the soul. I'm using magic... that passes through my soul. It's all working out in the end!
But Sirius didn't really seem convinced. My little slip up didn't go unnoticed by him, afterall. I doubt anything goes unnoticed by him.
"Why don't we make some food while Sirius briefs me on the plan," I said, changing the topic. "Come on, Sirius! To the kitchen we go!!"
*~*
"Oh," I said, once Sirius explained the new plan that he and Ray had come up with, and that Seth is a part of.
They were gonna make it seem like Ray decided to go against the tactician Queen's orders and attack at the bridge, while Seth spreads the rumor that we have the Godspeed company backing us up. Apparently Fenrir's dad owns a wealthy company that could possibly sponsor us with Magic Crystals if they wanted to, but it was bluff.
But the amateur Red soldiers at the Civic Center won't know that. They'll be attacking with all their Magic Crystal supplies, wasting a good chunk of them while we use up our last bit as well to continue the bluff. You lose some, you win some. If this goes according to plan, we'll be able to take the Civic Center as our own!
And if the lucky charms work, I might be able to even gather some of the magic spells the Red Army throws and put that into empty Magic Crystals as well.
