Rest: Fluff

"It's 2am; I think that's enough of that."

His voice startled you as you looked up to see him leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed. His dark locks just slightly came over his eyes but you could still get a glow of his grey steel eyes piercing into you.

You looked back at your laptop screen, fingertips beginning to type again and swiftly picking up where you left off before he disturbed you.

"Why are you still awake?" You questioned while continuing to type away, not looking up at the figure. You knew the answer yet you wanted to push all the attention off of you; but you knew that was impossible.

"Could say the same for you." He responded with a softer voice than before. He knew how hard you had been working during the exam weeks and how restless you had been leading up to them. He tried his best to keep you calm and reminded you when it was needed that all you could was your best and that would be enough. He would be proud no matter what, he knew you were a hard worker and gave everything your all despite whether you were good or bad at it. You had his support.

However this was your final week of exams and you were now feeling drained, all energy and motivation disappearing from your body day by day. You were now stuck on this 5000 word essay needed in a couple of days, you had made progress but right now your mind was overwhelmed by past exams and revision.

You were now stuck on your words, eyes searching for the next letter but it suddenly was blurred from your vision. You rubbed your eyes and blinked trying to maintain your focus.

A deep sigh came out of Levi. "See. This isn't good for you. You need rest."

A small smile creeped at the side of your mouth. "Hypocrite."

Normally it was you scolding Levi for staying up too late for fawning over paperwork and it was you dragging him off to bed but now he could see the scene from your perspective this time.

"C'mon, you need to rest." He gently persuaded.

You looked up at him, his soft features even more visible in the night. His eyes locked with yours, silently luring you in, begging you to come. This time you sighed and looked at your laptop once last time, you shut your eyes finally giving in to the temptation and shut the screen down.

A soft smile crept across Levi's face as you waddled over to him and his arm immediately wrapped around your waist. He pressed a kiss to your forehead, "You deserve a break, you've worked your ass off these past few weeks."

You melted into his arms as a response to his praise; he led you upstairs supporting you as you felt light in his arms. But as soon as you crashed your head down onto your pillow, your worries of the essay had left your mind completely. With his arms wrapped around you and the melody of his beating heart it didn't take you more than five minutes to fall asleep.

A break was all you needed.

A reminder that you're doing the best that you can do and no one could ask for more.
