Sleep: Levi x Reader

"Are you awake?"

Your voice came out as a hum, your face planted into his bicep as you attempted to hold onto his warmth whilst taking his soft scent.

He let out a short sigh before whispering your name, "Yes, this is the fifth time you asked."

"Just checking." you lifted up your head to glance at him, "I can't sleep."

"I figured."

You let out a huff returning back to your position on his arm. "You smell nice." you spoke out, your voice muffled.

He clicked his tongue, "Huh I always smell nice."

You lifted your head up once more, "I know you do. I'm just saying you smell nicer." you said before laying back down.

"Is that supposed to be a compliment?" he murmured, raising a brow at your statement.

"Uh-huh."

His hand crept over your skin finding its place along your back. His fingertips rubbing small circles on your back almost instantly as a natural habit. His movements soothe you immediately; making your eyelids droop shut with the heavy cloud of sleep finally catching up to you. In the pit of his arms you mumbled something incoherently causing him to pause his motions. "What?"

Another sentence spilled out of your mouth hurriedly.

"You know I can't understand what you're saying if you're talking into my arm, idiot."

You huffed lifting up your head one more time with an exhausted expression across your face, eyes not even half open. "I saidddd..." your words trailed off pausing before continuing, "Aren't you going to sleep?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because."

"Why?"

"Shut up and go to sleep."

Rolling your eyes with another purposeful huff you followed his words and laid down once more. His hand continued to caress your back with you just about to fall asleep until...

Abruptly you rose up almost (and I mean almost) scaring the shit out of Levi. "Fuck what's wrong with you?"

"I forgot to say...I love you." and with a small smile you laid back down content with your sudden announcement.

With a final sigh, he patted your head, "I love you too brat...

... Now for the love of God go to fucking sleep."
