"So you just put a fucking tree into your front room and...decorate it?"

"Yep!" you nodded, bending down to add a bauble to the new bare tree, that dare I mention got on sale.

Levi stood in front of you, crossed arms, eyebrows crossed in either deep thought or confusion.

"Actually maybe we should add the tinsel first-" you paused, eyes catching onto Levi's expression. "What's wrong?" a hint of concern in your voice.

He stood silently, searching for the words to answer your question. He found none instead replying with another question.

"I don't get it, what's the point of all this?"

"It's tradition." you clarified, "You decorate a tree and place gifts under it for Christmas day."

This time his expression changed to curiosity as he thought back to when he was a little kid, walking down the street, tightly gripping his mothers hand as he was bundled in all the warm clothes his mother could find.

Whilst walking down the street he'd catch a glimpse of the bright lights and the Christmas decoration across the windows.

"It's a Christmas tree, Levi." His mother confirmed, "Like the ones you see on tv." He scrunched up his nose, cheeks red from the frost.

"Why would you want a tree for Christmas?"

Seems like he didn't get it back then either.

"It's tradition." was all his mother said.

"Will we get one?"

He didn't miss the hesitation that spread across her face as now it was her own brows that furrowed. "We'll see." she replied, "Gotta find a present from Santa first."

"Santa's not real."

She chuckled looking down at her son, "Oh is that right?"

He nodded, "There's no way he can fly."

Kuchel pinched his numb cheek, "Anything's possible my love."

-

"Are you gonna help me?" you asked, tilting your head to the side curiously.

He stood thinking for a moment, "Fine."

"Wait really?" you paused holding a tinsel in your hand.

He hummed bending down into your Christmas box before picking out a large golden star, "I guess this goes on top." he murmured.

You snorted beginning to wrap the tinsel around the tree, "Yeah, if you can reach."

He smirked, "Anything's possiblelove."
