REQUEST FROM TUMBLR

Peace.

You thought you would never come close to the word. It felt like a dream.

Yet reality was standing right in front of you, your swollen belly as proof that you could finally have a normal life. No more titans, no more fighting and no more watching your comrades die right in front of you.

You had everything you wanted at last.

Once the war was over, Levi didn't hesitate to take you away and place a ring on your finger. Once he was certain that the universe wouldn't take you away from him; he made sure to officially make you his.

And then the two of you purchased a cottage right on the outskirts of a quiet village, it was perfect for you and Levi to spend the rest of your lives together. Peacefully and privately basking in each other's company.

But soon it wouldn't be the just two of you anymore as in just a few months you were expecting a new addition to the Ackerman family. You were ecstatic, the thought of having children seemed like a fantasy to you a few years ago but finally it seemed to be becoming a reality for you.

Levi couldn't have been more happy. The thought barely crossed his mind in the past but now he couldn't hold back at the feeling of becoming a father. Of course, he had his doubts, thinking he wasn't worthy enough to raise a child in a world with or without titans. Still, you continued to remind him that had you and you for one wouldn't leave his side.

And he made sure that was taken literally.

As you progressed to the final stages of your pregnancy Levi was even more wary of your movements. If there was something you needed he would get it in an instant before you had the chance to get up, if you were craving something he would head out and get it for you no matter how late it was. Back pain? He wouldn't hesitate to massage away the pain.

Whatever it was that you needed, Levi brought it to you in a heartbeat. He wanted to make you as comfortable as possible, letting you know that he had everything under control, of course settling into his role as a father. It was natural for him to be overprotective of you and your baby, aiding you in simple things; not letting you out of his sight.

It was too blissful to complain, finally being able to with the love of your life without any doubts. The soft thump of his heartbeat as you laid next to him at night, realisation that you had the world you wanted. The shape of his rough hands that softly caressed your stretch marks as warm water soaked your skin, relieving your stress and worries.

Sure it was nice to have Levi look after you, yet you felt a little guilty letting him do everything despite him demanding that you don't make any unnecessary movements at all. But you had quickly grown bored of eating and sleeping all day and would rather do something more productive.

You and Levi had already set up the baby's room; walls painted and cot set up, all ready for their arrival. You walked in peeping your head round the door with a smile already lit up at the sight. You couldn't be more than ready for your child, along with the natural uneasiness of becoming a parent, it also brought your excitement.

You shut the door softly, a smile still printed on your face as you slowly walk along making your way down the stairs cautiously. Normally Levi would be by your side supporting you even though you could manage perfectly by yourself. However, you found the downstairs empty quick to remember Levi telling you he had some errands to attend to before you took a daily nap.

You looked around wondering at what you should do, huffing a little. "What should we do now daddy's gone?" You hummed, rubbing your stomach glancing around the room until your eyes casted on to a large shelf occupied with random objects.

Immediately an idea popped into your head and you began straight away. Saving Levi the work of doing it later once he returned.

You removed everything off the shelf carefully remembering to wipe down the dust Levi's voice echoing in your head from back in your cadet days "Don't forget about the dust brat."

You smiled sweetly at the memories long gone in the past, full of voices and faces that you would never hear or see again.

You managed to wipe down the dust as well as you could with your stomach before looking down at the ornaments placed before you. You sighed beginning to organise them and dusting each one off. You remember Levi scolding you at the market for buying such unnecessary things for your new home yet you didn't hear him complain as he watched you fill up the shelf with random objects.

Another smile crept along your lips at how far you had come, it only felt like a month ago when you and Levi moved in together. Distracted by your thoughts you hardly noticed the shelf begin to wobble, continuing to place objects overestimating the strength the shelf had to carry so many objects.

It was only until you were about to place the last item on the top shelf that you felt the wooden furniture lean over you a little too far and a little too late to even attempt to prevent it from crashing upon you. As an immediate reaction you shut your eyes bracing for an impact noting that it was too late to even try and move out of the way.

A few seconds had passed where you stood in silence waiting for the impact, opening an eye to see the shelf paused in midair, objects starting to slip to the edge before the shelf was smoothly pushed back to its original place.

"What did I tell you?"

That oh so familiar voice created a nervous pit inside you.

You looked to find Levi somehow miraculously stood by your side, pushing back the shelf hand still placed on the rim just for caution.

"When did you get back?" you questioned hoping to change the subject. But being the Levi Ackerman he obviously caught on.

"No. Don't even fucking try to change the topic. What are you doing out of bed?"

"I was bored." you mumbled.

"You could've really hurt yourself and the-" he glanced down at your stomach a reminder that soon he would get the chance to finally meet his child

"I knowww." you groaned, "But I'm not an invalid Levi."

He sighed, rubbing your back out of pity, "I know you're not, you just have to be more careful okay? Especially if I'm not there." He knew it was agonisingly boring for you to stay and lie in bed all day but he out of all people refused to take any chances.

"I know." you repeated understanding that he only meant the best.

He grabbed your arm leading you away from the shelf, eyeing it and making a mental note to go back and make sure that the hinges were stable for soon you both would have to child proof everything.

"How long were you here for anyways?" you questioned again not hearing him come through the front door.

"Long enough to see the shelf nearly-"

"Okay okay I got it."

"Just promise me you'll be more careful." he stated.

You huffed, hesitating with your answer.

"I said promise me." He spoke your name out clearly, meaning that he was serious.

"I promise Levi."

He placed a hand on your stomach, "You too promise to make sure your mother doesn't do anything stupid brat?"

You gasped prepared to playfully reprimand him before a kick came from your belly in response,

"Did they just-"

Levi chuckled softly rubbing your stomach, "That's my kid."
