Every step you took came with a crunch, shuffling through a ray of orange, red and brown autumn leaves. Your hands tucked into the pocket of your large winter coat, the end of your nose bitter with frost as well as your cheeks. Your eyes gleamed around the park hoping that in a few weeks time, these leaves would be covered by snow. You could barely keep your excitement for the winter already dwelling on the cosy mornings and dark late nights.

And oh how well Levi knew this. You could barely shut up about it as soon as the 1st of October hit. Constantly babbling about your favourite hot drink, making the purchase of fluffy socks and blankets already. He trailed behind you slowly, hands carrying two hot drinks as you made your way through the park. It was a quiet morning with only a few figures out either for a morning jog or perhaps to walk their dogs, either way it was pleasing, the shades of autumn seeming enchanting to your eyes.

The two of you continued walking for a while until you reached a small bench and decided to take a seat. You saw Levi's face fill with hesitation knowing that he would much rather go back to the car for warmth instead of sitting on a cold wooden bench. Yet, with a sigh he sat down beside you finding no room for complaint. The whole area was spread out in front of you, the tall empty trees reaching out its branches to the grey clouds. Leaves all scattered around decorating the scenery, a cold breeze swept over the park, your cheeks tingle with intense frost.

Levi was quick to pass you your hot drink "Quick, drink it before you get cold." Graciously taking it with the liquid warming up your frozen fingers. Levi let out a tut, "This was your idea by the way idiot, I could have made you a fresh hot one while still in bed but no...instead you want to drag me out in this shitty cold weather."

"Ah yes lock me up and throw away the key, what a horrendous crime I have commited."

"Shut up." he mumbled, rolling his eyes at you before taking a sip of his drink.

"But it was worth it, I mean it's nice to get out of the house every once in a while and socialize... unlike you." you noted.

"You call sitting on a freezing park bench socializing? God help me." he deadpanned.

"And then you wonder why I call you an asshole?" you retort back giving an offended look.

"Whatever."

A silence crashed over the pair, only the faint sound of tweeting birds and rustling leaves to the howling wind to fill the air. A smile crept across your face which slowly but surely turned into a small laugh. His eyes immediately caught onto you, one leg crossed up on the other, strands of hair wafted by the cool breeze as he stared at you like you were some lunatic.

"The hell you giggling about?" he frowned, concerned about your behaviour. Your laughter died down yet there was still a grin on your face as you turned, your body now meeting his inching just a little closer to him. He continued to give you a death stare confused by you entirely.

"Marry me."

He let out an immediate snort. "Yeah right." He raised his paper cup to take another sip.

You let out a sigh, "I'm serious Levi. Marry me."

He almost choked on his drink, no, almost he dropped it entirely on the floor. His eyes widened once realising how genuine you were, your eyes meeting his, intrigued. It took it a moment to process what you just said, mouth opening and closing to think of a perfect response. Well he could hardly say no could he, he'd been saying the same question to himself for months yet couldn't find the right way to blurt it out to you.

Shame you beat him to it.

"Why on earth would you want to marry me?"

"Because I love you."

"I figured that out stupid."

"I wasn't finished!" you sighed preparing yourself for a ramble.

"And because I love every part of you, us, when we're together. I love our stupid squabbles and arguments over pointless things that aren't worth arguing about. Or how you call me fucking dumb for all the stupid shit I do and how well you know when I need space or when I need comfort. Nobody knows me as well as you do and no one would ever understand how our relationship works. I want to spend my whole life with you, dragging you out places and you doing it just for the sake of it, more squabbles and more laughter with you because that's how this works. It's just you and me. And I guess we don't really need to get married if you don't want to there's nothing we need to prove but it's just...it feels right."

For the longest moment everything felt silent. Your heart now stuck in your throat as he just stared at you. You couldn't tell if he was in complete shock or awe with you. You looked away nervously, unable to make eye contact anymore, setting yourself up for a gentle rejection. It wasn't until his cold fingertips reached your chin instantly pulling you to look back again at him.

You couldn't tell if his eyes were teared up because yours were just just as blurry.

"Are you fucking stupid?" he spoke softly, his expressive steel eyes gazing into yours with pure devotion and tenderness as the words fell out of his mouth,

"Of course I want to marry you."

Not a split second later and his lips crashed onto yours, a tingling feeling of cold yet warm passion. A taste of him and infatuation for you. If he could he would kiss you again and again and again until his lips were practically sore.

Because for once in his life, he had you and you had him.
