Each and every time we have flown together, Hunter and I have always been seated next to an interesting character. First, it was crazy, disgruntled Edna, then it was Mr. CEO that earned himself a hot date with TSA and airport security. As we wait in the terminal for our aisle to be called, we carefully scout the passengers and play a little game called "You are the next contestant on the Flight is Right." Hunter's pick is a girl with long black dreadlocks that reeks of weed while I choose the plastic surgery-loving socialite who has more YouTube followers than modesty. In the ten minutes since we have been sitting here, she has taken twenty-two selfies. Let me repeat myself...twenty-two selfies. If you have to take that many pictures and filter the shit out of them, maybe the camera isn't the problem.

As it turns out, neither one of us was right. The plane is larger than any other we have flown on before and the aisles contain four seats instead of three. Maybe it's because we are on our honeymoon or maybe it's because God is finally granting us something good after the hell we have been through over the past month, but our neighbors are fellow honeymooners on their way to Hawaii.

What are the chances?

They are just as in love as we are and after getting to know them a little bit, I instantly like them. I quickly bonded with the bride, Eve. She was just as flustered as I was during takeoff, both of us clenching our eyes shut until we reached altitude. She is also a nurse at a cardiac hospital while her husband runs his own construction business. His name is Adam. Yes, you heard me right. Their names are Adam and Eve.

"We like to tell people that we met in the Garden of Eden just to fuck with them," Eve laughs.

Eve has a sharp tongue and a colorful vocabulary, much like me. Hunter and Adam hit it off as well. The flight was long, but it didn't seem that way because we were engrossed in entertaining conversation. When they told us the story of how they met (not in the Garden of Eden), I was blown away. Adam was out on a job site one day when he developed shortness of breath and chest pain. He was rushed to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and when medications couldn't control his heart rate, he was sent to the cath lab to have an ablation done.

"I was twenty-three years old with no medical history," he tells us. "The only medication I took was a multivitamin and some ibuprofen every once in a while. I had never had surgery or been in the hospital before so this whole experience was terrifying. My parents died when I was younger, I had no siblings and I was single. When I was taken to a room after my procedure, I was completely alone. I had buddies, but they were only good for partying or playing poker with. Just as I was starting to pick up the phone to call one of my employees to come sit with me, an angel walks into the room and tells me she will be my nurse." He looks over at Eve and smiles, of which she returns sweetly. "Even though she had other patients to take care of, she stayed with me as long as she could and even brought her food in my room so we could eat dinner together."

"He was the only one of my patients that didn't have saggy skin or wrinkly balls," she laughs as he takes her hand in his own.

"Thanks, babe. Anyway, she was my nurse every day until I got discharged from the hospital. We spent that time talking about everything under the sun and getting to know one another. She would text me at night when she got home from work until she went to sleep. Even though I was alone in the world, I had Eve and that's the only thing that mattered to me. Eve had recently lost her brother and was not in a good place either so we helped each other through a challenging time. After I got discharged, we kept texting and then she finally agreed to go on a date with me. We have been together since and got married yesterday."

He leans over to kiss her temple and she simply glows. Hunter puts his arm around me and pulls me close to him. I love hearing people's love stories and I really love this one. Like Adam and Eve, Hunter and I found each other when we were both alone in the world, suffering through our own tragedies. Hunter and I share the story of how we met, reunited and the love story that we keep on writing. Eve's eyes glisten as we talk and Adam exchanges an understanding look with Hunter.
