Chapter 3

"Oh, hello." Said Billy while nervously laughing. "You're probably wondering how we got in here."

"No." Said Kari, observing the two boys. 'Who are they..?'

"YES." Said Zing at the same time. Zing looked at his girlfriend. "What do you mean, no? They just came out of nowhere!"

"Oh, then you do know how we got here! Great. Tell me," Billy said. "Where are we exactly?"

"The appropriate question is, 'when are we exactly'?" Said the other guy. Billy nodded.

"Yeah, that too." He said.

Kari laughed. "So what were you doing? Just randomly Transporting to places in Time? That's not even possible for a normal Wizard."

"No... Not really. We were going to help someone." Billy said. This piqued Kari's interest.

"He's a not good at Transporting places." The other guy mumbled.

"Sam! Don't say it like that!" The other guy, Sam, just rolled his eyes.

"Let me guess, you're a Time Wizard?" Kari asked.

"Yes, not a good one, but yes." Billy answered.

"Kari! How could you know that? And why are you not as freaked out about this as I am??" Zing said to her. "I mean, the guy popped out of nowhere!!" She smiled nervously. 'I have to tell him eventually...'

"Well," She chuckled nervously. "You see, about that... I was going to tell you a long tine ago, but I just never found the chance..."

"Tell me what..?" Zing said.

"I'm not.... Well.... Human."

Zing looked confused. "What does that mean? What do you mean you're not Human??!" He was astonished by what she said. "If you're not Human, what are you??"

Kari flinched at the harsh way he asked that question. She almost didn't answer. But he deserved to know."I--I... am a Wizard..." Zing's jaw dropped. "Hehe, tada...." She braced herself for whatever was coming next.

Zing turned his face away. "How.... How could you not tell me...?" He said quietly.

"I just... I didn't know how to... Zing, I'm--" Zing shook his head.

"Kari, how could you? I would have told you!" Zing said sounding pissed.

"Ooo, damn, I think we started a fight Sam." Billy said.

"That we did, brother. We should go." Sam said. They turned to leave.

"Wait! You said you were going to help someone? I can assist you! I am way better at Transport Magic than this guy." She pointed at Billy.

"Hey! I am slightly insulted by what you just said." Billy said.

"Really? You don't even know us." Sam said. 'He has a point...' Kari thought.

"Yeah! We could be rapists or... Murderers!" Billy said.

Kari scoffed. "Please. You," she pointed at Sam. "Look like you wouldn't hurt a fly. And you," she pointed at Billy. "Look like a fly would hurt you."

"Hey, I am a Lover, not a Fighter." Billy said.

"Whatever. Anyway, I could take you both down in a second. Hands tied." Kari said.

"Cocky aren't we? I'm a Werewolf, and that makes me at least 3 times stronger than you." Sam said.

"Please, I was in the Marines, so I know how to fight people who are stronger than me." Kari said.

Zing was flabbergasted. "A Werewolf! You're a--" He turned to Kari. "You were in the Marines!!?? When was that!? I think I'd notice if my best friend was in the Marines!"

"I joined them on my planet during that summer when you were in China. Zing, I'm really sorry for not telling you before!" Kari said. Zing just shook his head. He was just way to shocked to think straight.

"Yeah, we're gunna go...." Billy said.

"No way. I'm coming with you. It's been a long time since I've seen some action. Besides, I want to help too." Kari said. She turned to Zing. "Zing, I will be back. When I'm back, we will discuss this. Okay? For now, you should go home."

Zing just nodded. He left out the front door. They'd discuss it in the morning. Once Zing's had some time to process all of this.

"Um, will he be okay...?" Billy asked.

"Yeah, but he's probably super pissed at me." Kari said.

"Sorry about that." Sam said.

"No problem. I had to tell him eventually."

"Oh, so in a way, we helped you!"

"Absolutely did not." Kari sighed at this Billy guy's naïveté. "Okay, tell me where we are going."

"Some place called, The Badlands. Sounds badass." Billy said. "Its on another planet."

"Eladias." Kari said recognizing the name.

"Yeah, you from there?" Billy said.

"Yes! Its been a while since I have seen it." Kari said. "Lets go."
