"I don't wanna grow old," I said aloud.

"The fuck did that come from?" Nico, my boyfriend, said, visibly cringing.

"I don't know... looking at the star reminds me of growing old and I don't want that," I shrugged.

"Will, my gods, you do realize that nothing lasts forever," Nico slapped my forehead.

"OW! NICO-?!?" I sat up.

"Listen, pretty boy, I don't know why the hell you're saying this now, but it's a lunar eclipse tonight and I don't wanna to my cabin having a fucking... existential crisis, okay?" Nico rolled his eyes. "Enjoy being teenagers now. At least you're living life. I was trapped for decades. You get used to it."

Oops, I thought, I forgot it's a touchy subject with Nico.

"Sorry," I said.

"Forget it, Solace, just look at the moon, alright?" Nico sighed.

It was a nice night, actually. Slight breeze, crickets chirping, and the sound of the lake was like white noise.

Looking up, you can see the moon filled with thousands and thousands of stars. Tall, dark trees cut the sky into ragged, but beautiful shapes. The the sound of campfires cracked softly in the back. We weren't far from the cabins, but far enough where you can't see the lights from lanterns.

Nico and I lay on a quilt I made in arts and crafts with Rachel. One of the corners was singed from Leo catching on fire from laughing after seeing it. It's a little lopsided, but I think it looks fine. Jason and Percy also had a laugh from it. Nico accepted it, but I'm sure he wanted to laugh too. So his face was a little bit conjoined. It was a first attempt! Rachel praised me for it, but I'm 99.9% sure it was for effort and pity.

"Looks pretty right?" Nico pointed out.

"Yeah," I replied. And then my stomachs growled loudly. "I ruined the moment, didn't I?"

"Yup."

"Sorry," I turned towards him.

"I think I'm going to sleep right now," I mumbled.

"Nope," Nico poked me in my stomach.

"Ouch," I flinched.

"You're gonna get bug bites, let's go back to the cabins," Nico got up and kicked me off the quilt. After wiping off the dirt and leaves from the blanket, we walked back to the cabins.

"Sleepover?" I asked.

"Sure, but no hogging blankets," Nico nodded. I smiled and we walked to Nico's cabin.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I have 5 drafts, but I made a new one and published it in the same day. Or in the next day bc it's 1 am right now. Honestly, my sleep schedule is so messed up. Thank you everyone for the love and support! I love writing even though my schedule is crazy. I have a lot of homework to catch up on (sadly) even though it's summer so I don't know when the next one shot will be. Yes this one is pretty short, hopefully (🤞🏼) it will be longer next time. Happy reading guys!
