"Soooo, I have to meet your dad?" Will sat on Nico's bed.

"Mm," Nico didn't look up from his book, uninterested. Will, on the other hand, was freaking the fuck out.

"Is he... scary?" Will asked.

Nico lowered his book with a hurtful expression. "Will. He's my father and the god of the underworld.... Of course he's fuckin' scary." Nico snorted. "Oh, let me rephrase. He's fucking scary as shit."

"Nico!" Will shook Nico. "Not helpful!"

"Who said it was supposed to be helpful?" Nico looked at him confused, expecting Will to be joking.

"Nicooooo," Will whined.

"What am I supposed to say!?" Nico threw his book in the air, shrugging. "Say 'oh~ everything is going to be a-okay! My father will love you and, yippe! Sparkles and rainbows'-? Of course not! I don't fucking know what's gonna happen!"

"At least... I don't know- boost my confidence!" Will flopped on the bed beside him.

"I can barely boost my own, what makes you think I can boost yours?" Nico frowned. "Are you special?"

"I am very special, mind you. I'm your boyfriend," Will stuck up his head in pride. Nico rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Alright, alright," Nico sat up, closing his book. "Just don't... piss him off."

"How am I not supposed to piss him off...?" Will stuck his head out a bit in confusion.

Nico shrugged in response.

"Oh, you are... so, so, so very helpful, Darling," Will nodded sarcastically.

"You are quite welcome," Nico picked his book back up.

"You are also so, very frustrating," Will stared at the ceiling.

"Likewise," Nico smiled at his book.

"Nico, I'm really nervous," Will rocked on the balls of his feet.

"You can always bail," Nico shrugged.

"I'm not bailing, that's cowardly," Will shook his head.

"You are cowardly," Nico knotted his eyebrows in confusion.

"Not this time," Will frowned. "I intend to face your father."

"You make it sound like he's a monster," Nico said.

"Well-" Will tilted his head.

"Will Solace. Watch your mouth, we're about to go inside the palace," Nico gave him a look.

"Sorry- sorry, right," Will nodded his head. "Okay~ I think I'm ready."

"You sure?" Nico asked.

"Um... raincheck?" Will smiled.

"No," Nico said before opening the palace doors. Will stared at him as he walked in, mouth gaping in astonishment and betrayal.

"Welcome! Welcome!" Hades opened his arms expecting someone to hug him. Nico slouched and Will stood awkwardly. "Ahem- shall we have dinner?"

"Hi, boys," Persephone smiled as she walked down the grand staircase of the palace. Will waved and Nico smiled awkwardly.

"So Will," Hades took a bite of food. "You're Nico's boyfriend."

"Yes," Will nodded, setting down his fork.

"How's he treatin' you?" Hades asked.

"Dad!" Nico interrupted before Will could answer.
