Chapter 19

P.O.V/ Nicole Henderson:

Today is Friday, November 18, 2011 it's mine and Eric's seventeenth birthday and it's a school day so we get up and get ready for school. I just got out of the shower and put on my school clothes; my black polo shirt, with my black colored blue jean jacket that is from American eagle, a pair of dark blue jeans that are regular fit and my black, white and grey Adidas. I plug up my hair dyer and dry my hair the rest of the way brushing it as I dry it. I fix my bangs making them part to the left like they always have then I take a can of Suave hair spray and spray it one good time all over. I walk over to the right side of my bed and pick up a medicine bottle that has my medicine the clear pills filled with animal blood. I open the bottle and pour out four pills I put them in my mouth and pick up a plastic bottle of water taking a drink to swallow them. I put the lid back on the medicine bottle and slide it in the front pocket of my blue jeans I pick up my car keys off the dresser under my flat screen TV that is mounted on the wall above as I walk past the foot of the bed and over to the door where I reach down and pick up my back pack. I turn the handle and walk out the door meeting Eric in the middle of the hallway and we walk down stairs turning right down the hallway. We walk into the kitchen where mom and dad are sitting at the table drinking coffee. We sit down at the table for a few with them. Dad said " There's the birthday girl and boy. happy birthday kids". Mom smiles and said " Happy birthday.. I can't believe you are both seventeen". Dad said " Yeah me too.." Mom gets up from the table and walks over to the kitchen counter by the sink and the back door. She picks up two white colored envelopes and walks back over to the table handing them to us. I open mine that has my name written on the front and pull out a birthday card that says chapter seventeen.. I open the card and it says happy birthday to a beautiful young woman... love always Mom and Dad. Eric's says chapter seventeen and it reads happy birthday to a handsome young man... love always Mom and Dad... a hundred dollar bill is in the cards. We smile at them and get up from our seats. Eric gives mom a hug and I give dad a hug. I walk around the table and give mom a hug while Eric hugs dad. Mom kisses me on the cheek and said " Happy birthday baby". Dad said to Eric " Happy birthday son". I open the back door and Eric follows me out around to the driveway and we walk up to our cars I unlock my car and get inside while Eric gets in his truck. I see the window roll down so I roll mine down. Eric said " Happy birthday Sis". I said " Happy birthday Bub". We smile at each other Eric starts up his truck and puts it in drive pulling out of the driveway after I got mine started I pulled out driving down the road. I pull into the school parking lot eight minutes later I drive down and park by Riley's car that is parked next to Sam's car. I turn off the engine and put the car in park I pull out the keys and get out of the car with my backpack. I walk around the back of the car meeting Riley where she stands with Sam and Valerie. She kisses me softly then looks at me She said " Happy birthday beautiful".. She looks around and said " Where's Eric?" I forgot that he had to go to an appointment today with Shelby and her mom to find out what the baby is today by an ultrasound. I said " He's gonna be a little late today he went to meet Shelby and her mom at the doctor's office they get to find out what the baby is today. Riley said " What do you think it's gonna be?" I said " I think a girl Eric thinks a boy". Sam hands Riley a small white box and She said " This is for you". She puts the box in my hands and I pull off the lid. It's a thin silver chain with a silver heart that comes apart with two halves one says Nicole and the other says Riley. She picks it up from the box and I turn around as she puts it on me. I turn back around and said as I looked down at it " It's so beautiful... thank you".. I kiss her softly after the kiss she reaches in her black polo pulling out the same necklace. She said " Now we match". Sam and Valerie are smiling at us they both say happy birthday to me. Soon Dani, Carly, Jenny and Cheyenne show up and tell me happy birthday. As we stand there talking I hear a voice say " Well if it isn't the birthday girl herself". I look over to the right and there stands Alex and Lakein. Alex said " Happy birthday Nicole". I glare at her and She said " Asshole.." I said " Don't even start with me Alex". As they walk off Lakein grabs my arm and said in my ear " That was a hell of a kiss you gave me on Halloween." She winks at me and smacks me on the butt. Riley shoves Lakein and she stumbles back a few steps. Riley gets in Lakein's face and said " Hands off my fiance bitch"... Alex is standing beside Lakein she goes to move and Lakein stops her. Lakein's eyes turn red and She said " Careful now".. I see two scars on the side of her neck that are from a vampire bite. Lakein smiles wickedly at us so does Alex. They walk away and I said " Fuck.. she turned Lakein". Riley said " She must have did it on Halloween".
