Nineteen

Aurora was with Topp at the shopping mall few blocks away from their building with Lucas' bodyguards.

Julia was sitting on the single couch inside Lucas' office while his boss was standing proudly in front of her. He raised his brow when their eyes met.

"What?" masungit na tanong nito bigla.

"What?"

"Julia..." he said in a warning tone.

"I don't know what you're asking for, Sir," sagot niya.

He tilted his head before sighing. Nagkaroon nang mahabang titigan between Julia and Lucas before she spoke.

"I'm sorry... about lying earlier."

He scoffed. "Inamin mo rin na nagsinungaling ka."

"I already know na nandoon ka rin sa resto pero hindi na ako nagpakita. You're with someone kasi..." si Julia.

"You should've told me that you're already going out para sinamahan kita.

His thick brows knitted. "Are you sure? If you want me to dine with you, I will come. You want me to wait for you to talk to your son first about the two of us, I will wait.

And to add that his face was more serious than usual, mas lalo siyang napipi.

She smiled inwardly. It fits. "Look at me, baby."

His words were like a spell to her that she willingly obliged to look at him straight to the eyes. Eyes can really speak.

"I want you to know that I will never reject you. Whatever you want to do, as long as I you want me to go with you, I will do it. I don't want to see you alone if I can be with you through your plans, right?" Lucas said, full of sincerity.

"K-kahit na... I'm a liar?" kagat-labing tanong niya.

"As long as your feelings for me are real, kahit magsinungaling ka na sa ibang bagay, ayos lang sa akin," sabi nito nang may munting ngiti sa mga labi.

Julia poured her lips a little. "That's not right, Lucas. You don't want the person you love to be a great liar, right? And I don't want you to be a stupid lover."

A genuine smile crept on his lips. Napatitig doon si Julia. Even if frowning, Lucas was already good-looking. It's like the sun suddenly shines amidst the dull sky.

"Why are you smiling?" She frowned. "You're scaring me."

"What?" Lucas chuckled a little. "Am I that scary when smiling?"
