"Hello there, kitty," Lucas said while tapping his finger on the glass cage around the white kitten. "Topp, say hi to this little creature."

Topp obliged and waved his cute little hand in front of the sleeping kitten. "He's sleeping. Can you wake him up, Daddy?"

"He will be sad if we'll interrupt his good night sleep."

"But it's still afternoon. He cannot sleep yet."

"Don't you have your afternoon nap, kid?" Lucas asked Topp and the kid nodded slowly. "That's what he's doing, too."

Kumurap si Topp at pinanood ang kuting na natutulog. "Even animals can have afternoon nap?"

"Yes. Not just us, humans," Lucas replied before turning his head towards her. "Julia, what are you doing there? Come here."

Bahagya lang ngumiti si Julia at umiling. She was sitting on the waiting area inside the pet shop that they went to and watched the two boys have their own bonding. Nang makarating sila sa mall ay agad niyang tinawagan si Aurora para ihatid sa kanila si Topp. Lucas even invited her friend to join their family date but Ro refused and told them that she has her own date. Hinayaan na lang niya ang kaibigan na gawin din ang gusto nito kahit saglit lang.

Julia cannot concentrate on their family date because she was thinking about Lucas' last call at the parking lot. She was sure that the mouse he was talking about was her. Pero paano nito natunugan na mayroong nakapasok na espiya ni Anthony sa kumpanya? She never did anything that will leave her marks behind.

"Pagod ka na ba?" Hindi namalayan ni Julia na nakalapit na pala si Lucas sa kaniyang pwesto. "Topp's so active. He never losses his energy. Naubos na ang akin sa arcade pa lang."

She chuckled lightly. "Huwag mong ihambing ang energy mo sa three years old na bata. Times nine ang taon mo kay Topp, Sir."

Lucas frowned at her and she laughed. Hindi niya alam kung paano pa niya nagagawang tumawa kahit na nasa alanganin na ang kaniyang lugar sa kumpanya ng binata. She needed to tell Anthony about what she have learned.

Hindi na sila nagtagal sa pet shop dahil napagod na rin ang kaniyang anak. She and Topp had their last argument about buying a puppy and Lucas even sided with her son. Sa huli ay napapayag na rin siyang magkaroon ng alaga si Topp at si Lucas pa ang nagbayad.

Nagkita sila ni Aurora sa labas ng mall at sabay-sabay na silang bumalik sa Savirino Enterprises. Aurora bought her car, which was the extra car of Anthony, kaya hindi na siya nakipagtalo pa kay Lucas tungkol sa sasakyan nilang mag-ina pauwi.

"Sigurado kang puwede na akong umuwi?" she asked Lucas for the last time before entering the car. "Hindi pa naman tapos ang trabaho natin."

Lucas placed his hands inside his pocket. "You look tired already. You should rest."

Tututol pa sana ulit si Julia nang marinig niya ang pagtawag ni Topp sa kaniya gamit ang paos nitong boses. When she glanced inside the car, Topp was already leaning his back on his seat while the golden brown puppy was on his lap. Papikit na ang mga mata ng bata at bahagyang nakanguso.

"He needs you," Lucas said and Julia looked back at her boss. "Go home. I can do the rest of the work."

"Thank you," she said softly.

Lumapit si Lucas sa sasakyan at pinagbuksan siya ng pinto. Aurora was watching them silently through the rear view mirror. Nang makasakay si Julia sa loob ay nanatili pa ring nakauklo si Lucas sa may bintana ng backseat.
