Fear and Love Part III (Kakashi X OC)

Debriefing

The room became a jumbled mess of noise as everyone started shouting out the experience of their time travel all at once.

Kakashi took control of the room,"Whoa, whoa everyone stop! One at a time!" He gestured towards his wife, who he could see was especially emotional,"Babe, what the hell is going on?!"

"Kashi, this... This is the second time this chain of events has happened! The Shioki clan attacked the village, only the first time it happened you died. That scroll that Kai is holding is a jutsu that allowed us to go back in time to save you! We decoded it a month after you died and then used it to get you back!" Tsuki replied tearfully.

Kai chimed in,"Yeah dad! You got stabbed by the guys with the katanas and bled out right in front of us! I went back to the time to when you were twenty-seven! And I spent two weeks with you cause I told you that I was your long lost son!"

"I went back to when you were six years old! I met grandpa and I was there when grandpa died!" Kanari said, grabbing ahold of her dad's hand on the table.

"Kakashi, I went back to when you were eighteen and an ANBU Captain. We fell in love all over again!" Tsuki said with clenched fists.

"I got sent back to when you were pregnant with Takeo, Lady Hatake.." Shikamaru said.

Mitsue spoke up,"I was in the era just before the Nine Tails attack! I got to see my dad before he even became my dad!!"

"And I got sent back to two weeks ago. Just in time to change the course of events!" Naruto spoke up.

Kakashi stood wide eyed, trying to process all the information that had been thrown at him, but the story was so unbelievable he was having trouble,"Are....are you serious?"

"YES!" Everyone yelled back in unison.

"And who cast this jutsu?" Kakashi asked.

"I did." Sasuke stated plainly

Kakashi took a deep breath,"Well....then I thank you all for your efforts and you Naruto for being the one to save Kai and I. Tsuki, kids, we'll definitely talk about this later, but for now we need to focus on figuring out what's going on with the Shioki clan and what provoked their attack."

The twins were so excited, they felt like they were playing a role in a high level diplomatic issue of the Leaf Village, something new genin would never be a part of normally. It was definitely a perk to being the Hokage's kids.

Tsuki nodded, she knew as the wife of the Hokage that protecting the village was always the number one priority, both for him as the leader of the Land of Fire and her as First Lady. She had to set her emotions aside momentarily so he could focus; He was probably so stressed about this already she didn't want to burden him down with her stress as well. Marriage was a balancing act, she had to pick and choose her battles, knowing when it was appropriate to demand attention and when it wasn't. In this moment.....it wasn't. Kakashi, the valiant Shinobi turned noble Lord, needed to do his job, and she knew that.

Her and Shikamaru opened their laptops that were kept in the bunker for emergencies such as this one.

Shikamaru started searching through the Leaf's archived files,"From our most recent data, it says that the Shioki clan has up to a thousand members, it's the biggest clan pre- and post-war. They're not all named Shioki though, they're more like a giant gang of bandits that just run under the name Shioki. But from what I could tell and depending whether or not there were more in the actual village, I'd say about 150-200 attacked us directly..."

"Plus we took out around twenty on our way back from our mission!" Naruto added,"We were attacked en route. Here's that scroll we found on them that had their squad missions split up into groups!"

"Do we know who their leader is?" Kakashi asked skimming through the scroll.

"No, but with a group so large there has to be a singular leader to organize a mission file like that..' Shikamaru kept typing,"But we have nothing in our records."

"Let's contact the other Kage and see if they have anything in their records. And let's get that scroll Kai's holding to our decoding department and get it decoded and then resealed with our own jutsu." Kakashi started formulating a plan and delegating tasks,"It seemed like they were after that scroll as well so we need to safeguard it. Have we heard anything about what occurred in the village?"

"Sai is saying that they were just explosions set off as a distraction. No injured reported as of right now and no other signs of Shioki clan members anywhere." Shikamaru continued typing.

"Okay we'll keep the gates of the Village on lockdown for now until it's deemed safe. Stage extra guards at all exit and entry points as well at least a mile out from the perimeter of the village along major roadways." Kakashi commanded, "Sasuke....what's wrong?"

Everyone looked at Sasuke and saw that he had a slightly concerned look in his Sharingan eye. He gestured towards the scroll Kakashi was holding that had all the Shioki squad missions,"Hand me that, Kakashi.." he said.

Kakashi slid the scroll across the table into Sasuke's waiting hand. He held two fingers up,"Release!"

The scroll suddenly revealed new writing at the bottom of the page,"There's more to this mission list than we initially thought... There was an encoded message, luckily my Sharingan saw through it."

He slid the scroll back over to Kakashi, who began to read over the new information.  His heart dropped and his eyes widened as the contents of the mission details hit him.

"What is it, Kashi?" Tsuki asked.

Kakashi swallowed hard,"There's a new mission here...for Shioki Squad ten.... Their orders are to... eliminate the Hatake, Nara, Hōki, and Inuzuka clans of the Leaf..."

Everyone's heads snapped up, Tsuki's heart stopped the same as Kakashi's, out of pure worry at the fact that someone was targeting their children simply because they beared the name 'Hatake'.

They didn't give a fuck about themselves, someone was targeting Kai and Kanari?!

But then it hit Tsuki, if she was a little over a month pregnant when they used the Jutsu to bring Kakashi back, then she should be pregnant right about now. If she was also a target, she became worried for her unborn baby.

'Don't tell Kashi just yet, he's already under a lot of stress...' she thought as she bit her lip,'Can I not have a normal fucking pregnancy, ever?!

Kakashi became slightly angry, he worked tirelessly for six years, rebuilding the world and restoring peace in choir with the other Kage. And it was now threatened by the fact that some powerful clan wanted to eliminate several seemingly random clans of his village. Threatening his clan? His wife and his children?

He let out a frustrated growl,"Send two ANBU to retrieve Temari and Shikadai at once and bring them here. The Hōki and Inuzuka clans are too large to house here so let's round them up and put them in the safe shelters that are adjacent to their neighborhoods, in case the enemy knows where to look. In the meantime, Tsuki, can you get in touch with the research department and have them find out if there are any connections listed-"

"-either between the clans or with the Shioki clan.. Already on it." Tsuki was furiously typing away on her own laptop.

"And let's call Yamato so we can get the damn Tower rebuilt, that way we can conviene there once the Village has been secured. I don't want to be stuck in this bunker, not knowing exactly what's going on out there. And the people of the village might think that I'm hiding away from the situation and we can't have that narrative spin out of control." Kakashi continued spouting out orders, something he had become especially good at in his last six years during his presidential-like reign.

Tsuki spoke up,"I've messaged Shizune, she's setting up a press conference so you can address the village on live television. She's bringing your cloak and Kage hat as well.."

Shikamaru sat back in his chair, worried about Temari and Shikadai but simultaneously thinking through this ordeal,"I feel like there's something far more sinister going on here..."
