Fear and Love Part III (Kakashi X OC)

Making Up (🍋)

"Where are you going, Kashi?" Tsuki questioned the exhausted man as he turned right instead of left when they reached the fork in the road that led to either the Hokage's building or the Hatake residence.

"Everyone follow me.." Kakashi replied, pushing the words out of his chest with what little energy he had,"We're staying in the bunker until we find out who 'Mother' is.."

Tsuki didn't want to be stuck in the bunker for the remainder of her pregnancy. Who knew how long it would be before they made that progress in the investigation? She protested, "But-"

"No buts.." Kakashi interrupted, still feeling on edge from this whole ordeal. He had a heavy weight on his shoulders, slightly alleviated by finally walking through the gates of Konoha, but not completely gone as he still had his and Tsuki's fight on his mind. He needed to protect her and their unborn child, so he decided to take control,"As head of the clan and Hokage, Tsuki, we're all staying in the bunker until I say it's okay to leave. Especially since we're waiting for Naruto and Sasuke to come back."

Tsuki remained silent, knowing that Kakashi would never pull rank like that unless it was something extremely important to him. Instead, she followed, still gently holding his hand while the twins and Mitsue silently followed as well. The twins felt slightly awkward as they had never seen their mother and father be so short with each other before.

Tsuki was still on edge herself, after having endured days of captivity while trying to grow a baby. Luckily, Sakura had determined that her baby was healthy and all was normal. She was even able to use her. impeccable chakra control to dispel Rāhyo's jutsu. Next week she would have her regular check up appointment at the hospital, which Kakashi was now going to be accompanying her on.

Tsuki wanted to spill her guts, she felt awful about her and Kakashi's multiple exchanges of harsh words and mutual silent treatments. They bickered once in a while about little things, but they had never had such an actual major fight. One that lasted days, one that made Tsuki not even want to look at Kakashi and vice versa. She didn't like this feeling, this man was her everything, he saved her in more ways than one, and she was utterly in love with him. She didn't want to live in a state where she couldn't stand the presence of her other half, even if it were temporary. Kakashi felt the same, but he wouldn't feel completely out of the woods on this situation until they reached the bunker.

Kakashi led them through the entrance of the Hokage's tower, down to a secret trap door and through the winding hallways to the emergency operations bunker where he unlocked the door and allowed the kids to rush in in front of him.

"Guys, it's been a long day, just head to bed please." Kakashi said with lackluster, he hadn't any energy to deal with being a parent. It was moments like these he was grateful that his six year olds had developed at twice the speed of normal children and were highly self-sufficient.

Tsuki slipped her sandals off at the entrance and quietly made her way to their bedroom to shower, Kakashi followed.

As he began to doff his clothes, he watched Tsuki in the shower, taking notice that she did indeed look pregnant. If he didn't know any better he might have just thought she ate a large meal, he cursed the fact that his stress had clouded his normal attentiveness.

'How did I not notice sooner?' he thought to himself as he regretted not being there for every single one of her ultrasound appointments, although he had no knowledge that they were occurring. As she turned around he caught sight of the large x-shaped scar on her back, reminding him that this is not the first time his actions, or even his existence in general, had put her in danger.

Tsuki exited the shower, saying nothing to Kakashi as he stepped in to wash himself off while she left the bathroom and got dressed into some pajamas. He took note that right before Tsuki left the shower she turned the knob to exactly the temperature he liked, showcasing how much of a a bond he had with this woman who knew him better than he knew himself sometimes.
