Fear and Love Part III (Kakashi X OC)

A High Profile Kidnapping

Izumo scanned the surroundings of the forest, noting the tree that was lit aflame and then put out shortly after as it was still mostly standing. He saw the small speckles of glass scattered about on the ground, and a thin layer of sand that covered the battle field,"What the hell happened here?!"

"I mean it looks like there was some sort of fight. Look there's a couple of kunai on the ground." Kotetsu pointed out Tsuki and Kakashi's weapons that had gotten left behind.

"We should report this to Lord Sixth. It could be related to the Shioki. Don't step on the crime scene so it can be investigated."

Izumo and Kotetsu dashed for the Hokage's tower, only to be met in Kakashi's office by Shikamaru.

"Hey you two." Shikamaru quirked an eyebrow at the look of urgency on their face,"Have you seen Lord Sixth or Lady Hatake?"

Izumo shook his head,"No, we came to find them, there seems to have been some sort of altercation in the forest about five miles from here."

"Huh? A breech in the village walls? With all the extra security there shouldn't be any unauthorized fighting besides in the training fields." Shikamaru placed his thumb and index finger on his chin inquisitively.

"This was definitely not the training fields." Kotetsu confirmed,"This was southwest, near the river."

Shikamaru didn't even have a chance to respond when Team Seven and Naruto walked in.

"Shika!" The twins yelled excitedly and waved as they shuffled in the door.

"Have you seen our mom and dad? We want to show them our new formation Naruto-sensei taught us!" Kai asked.

"Yeah!" Naruto backed him up,"I wanna show Kakashi-sensei how much they're progressing!"

Shikamaru shook his head,"Actually guys, I was looking for them too. They went out for lunch a few hours ago but they haven't returned."

"Well they weren't at home or in the bunker either." Naruto said.

Shikamaru got a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, he was always thinking ten steps ahead, following every branch of possibilities for any given situation. He knew it wasn't like them to just disappear without informing anyone so he quickly became worried about two major possibilities: Tsuki and Kakashi were dead or they've been kidnapped by the Shioki.

"Oh I know!" Kai said forming his hands signs,"Summoning jutsu!"

"Kai! Kanari!" Pakkun said once his cloud of smoke dissipated,"You wanna play?"

The twins shook their heads, and Kanari explained what was going on,"No, I know that's why we usually summon you Pakkun, but not this time. We're all looking for our mom and dad, but we can't find them anywhere!"

Pakkun, somewhat disappointed that the twins didn't want to play sniffed the air,"Okay, follow me."

The group chased Pakkun as he ran off in the direction of the forest.

"Just as I thought... Southwest." Shikamaru was starting to put together what little puzzle pieces he had.

"What's in the Southwest?" Mitsue asked as he ran next to Kanari.

"Izumo and Kotetsu here found what looked like the scene of a recent fight along the southwest border of the village..." Shikamaru replied,"But I'd like to see it for myself before I start jumping to conclusions.

Pakkun stopped in his tracks, along with all who were following him when they stumbled upon the scene.

"Oh wow, what the hell happened here?!" Kai said looking around, only to be knocked on the top of his head by Naruto.
