Fear and Love Part III (Kakashi X OC)

Captivity

A/N: If you haven't read the canon book Kakashi Hiden: Lightning in the Frozen Sky, I highly suggest you read it or read a summary of it because the events and characters in that book are referenced and this chapter won't make any sense if you haven't read that book lol. It's the story of how Kakashi becomes Hokage.

I've changed some details of Kakashi's canon book because in that book he has a love interest and obvi in my fanfic he's got Tsuki.

Kakashi reflected on the day he made his first decree as the Sixth Hokage. The day he led in the defeasance of the Rhyūha Alliance Armament by taking down the brother and sister duo Rayhō and Kahyō from killing all of the passengers of the Tobishachimaru airship. As the airship plummeted from the sky, he accepted the fact that he was going to die, and his thoughts wandered to Tsuki, who was seven months pregnant at the time and stuck in the Hokage's office with Tsunade, absolutely breaking down at the fact that Kakashi was stuck in the airship that she was watching nosedive towards the Earth.

By the time he assisted Kahyō with the controlled crash of the airship, he knew he had to take control of his inevitable instatement as Hokage. He made his first tough decision as the new leader of the Leaf by sentencing Kahyō to life in the Blood Prison and to serve as warden using her Earthen Ice Chains jutsu which she could use to freeze prisoners from the inside out to keep them from escaping. It was the same prison he sent Shin Ozawa to after he attacked his family.

Kakashi lived a life full of regret, some of which he had reached closure and healed from. But the moment he saw his newborn son and daughter's face for the first time he was filled with a hope like he had never experienced, stricken with a resolve to stop regretting his past decisions and to just live and enjoy his damn life. That didn't stop him from wondering sometimes.

He wondered if he had never accepted the position if the Land of Fire would have made such a good recovery. He wondered if his children would be safer and better off if he weren't Hokage. He wondered if he never accepted the position if him and Tsuki wouldn't be in this situation right now, tied up and gagged inside of an enemy puppet that was taking them God knows where.

But he knew wondering about 'what ifs' wouldn't do him any good in remedying their situation. He'd just have to deal with what was, like always.

"On your feet!" One of the Shioki thugs commanded after forcing Tsuki and Kakashi out of the cramped space of the puppet they had been captured in.

The Onaji duo listened, still with cloth gags in their mouths as they stood on their feet. They analyzed their surroundings to try and get some sort of idea of what their location was and who they were up against.

They found they were in a dark, damp jail-cell like room, presumably underground. Kakashi estimated they had traveled half a day. And judging by the fact that they were surrounded by at least thirty enemies indicated to them that they were either at the Shioki headquarters or one of their squad's hideouts. They exchanged agreeable glances that determined that now was not the time to attempt to fight back.

The crowd of enemy ninja parted, as an ominous figure emerged from between them. The figure was hooded, his face hiding behind long black hair that blew ever so slightly as he approached Kakashi and Tsuki. Judging by how the crowd got out of his way, Kakashi assumed he was the leader of the pack.

Tsuki squinted, trying to get a glimpse of the man but was instead met by him roughly grabbing her and shoving her back against a cobblestone wall. She ran her finger tip along the stone.

'This type of stone only forms in the southern most border of the Land of Wind.' she thought as she continued to assess her surroundings. Her past six years as the Hokage's advisor had led her to become well versed in the goods every country had to offer, this type of stone was one of them.
