Brandi woke up a few hours later to Nate smiling down at her.
"Good morning, honey," he said in an obnoxious voice.
Brandi immediately held her arms out, meaning that she wanted a hug (and most probably a cuddle.) She wasn't usually this clingy, but she definitely had her needs most of the time.
"Come on, Brandi. I'm hungry and I want to get to McDonald's before they stop serving breakfast," Nate whined, earning a giggle from Brandi.
"We are not going anywhere until I get my hug."
Nate rolled his eyes, but willingly wrapped his arms around her, engulfing her in his warmth and his hunger subsided for a while as Brandi buried her face in the crook of his neck.
"Can my brother join us?" Brandi asked, still not letting go of Nate.
                              "Sure."
Brandi quickly sent her brother a text, saying that he was welcome to join them for breakfast and he was free to invite his roommate, as well.
Nate pulled her onto his lap, hugging her from behind, and Brandi struggled to wriggle out of his grasp.
"Nate," she whined. "I have to dress up."
"But you already look amazing!" Nate said, referring to the gray sweatpants and his dark blue hoodie that she was wearing.
"I look like a homeless person! Now let me change."
Nate finally released Brandi from the hug she was trapped in and watched her rummage through her portion in his closet for something to wear, before she ran into the bathroom to change. Meanwhile, Nate just sat there and smiled to himself. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to love and to be loved by a girl like Brandi. He believed that, as of this moment, nothing could get any better.
He decided to get changed too, while Brandi wasn't around. So Nate grabbed some black, ripped, skinny jeans, a hoodie, and his favorite pair of vans. Then he just threw everything on, just as Brandi emerged from the bathroom. She was dressed in some high-waisted shorts and she was wearing one of Nate's hoodies, as well.
"I love it when you wear my clothes," Nate said, pulling Brandi in for a hug. They just couldn't get enough of each other.
Suddenly, Brandi felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, so she immediately let go of Nate to read the message she had just received. It was from her brother, saying that they were already in McDonald's, waiting for her and Nate.
"Come on, Nate," Brandi whined, pushing his face away from her neck. "They're already there."
"But I wanna kiss you," he whined back and Brandi just rolled her eyes at him.
She dragged Nate outside and they decided to just walk the four blocks to McDonald's in the scorching heat because Nate was a terrible driver and Brandi didn't have a license. Nate swung their intertwined hands as they walked the entire time and it just made Brandi smile.
Once they finally arrived at McDonald's, it wasn't long before Brandi spotted her brother seated down at a booth with his current roommate.
"Levi!" she squealed, making several heads turn her way, but it wasn't like she cared. Brandi let go of Nate's hand, ran over to the curly brunette, and wrapped her arms around his torso.
"It's nice to see you too, sis," Levi said, chuckling at his little sister as he hugged her back.
Once, they pulled apart from their sibling embrace, Brandi looked over Levi's shoulder to catch a glimpse of his roommate. His hair was mostly brown, while the very tips were dyed a light shade of blonde. She had never met the boy, but he seemed like a fun person.
"Hey, I'm Austin," he said, reaching out and shaking Brandi's hand and she smiled.
                              "I'm Brandi, Levi's sister."
"If that's the case, you guys sure don't look alike."
Brandi laughed at his remark and nodded.
                              "It's a long story."
"Well then, make it shorter," Austin suggested as all three of them took their seats in the booth while Nate went to the counter to order everyone's breakfast. Brandi looked over at Levi to check if he wanted to share their family history and he nodded, wanting to tell the story himself.
"Our dad married my mom right after they had graduated from college because she found out she was pregnant with me and they just wanted to get it over with and have a functional family. I was born, fights broke out, and they divorced the same year they married," Levi said and looked over to his sister, signalling that he wanted her to finish the story.
"Months later, our dad found a pretty blonde in a bar, whilst figuring out how to put his life back on track, and they hit it off pretty good. So after a year, I was created and Levi now has a step mom and an irritating little sister."
Both of them kept their gazes on Austin and just stared at his stunned expression.
"Wow," was all he was able to mutter, before Nate came back with two large trays of breakfast food and started distributing each meal to whoever ordered it.
"And a sausage biscuit for my lovely girlfriend," Nate said, handing Brandi her breakfast while kissing her temple and Levi and Austin just stared at them with blank expressions on their faces.
"You guys make me sick," Levi remarked. "This is exactly why I moved out of the house."
"I think I just lost my appetite," Austin said, but then took a huge bite out of his sandwich and started chewing. "But it's McDonald's, so I'll eat anyway."
Part of their breakfast was eaten in silence, but then Brandi remembered something and wanted to piss the fuck out of her big brother.
"Levi, guess what Nate got me for my birthday," Brandi said, immediately catching her brother's attention.
"Victoria's Secret underwear?" he guessed and Nate put a hand on his forehead.
Brandi scoffed. "I wish. But he got me something even better than that."
"What could be better than that?" Austin asked, his mouth still full.
"He got me tickets to All Time Low," Brandi said, nonchalantly, just to rub it in Levi's face that her life was way better than his.
Levi just gaped at the small space between Nate and Brandi, surprised at what he had just heard.
                              "Are you being serious?
"It's true," Nate replied, slinging his arm around Brandi's shoulders.
"If one of them can't go, I call dibs on the ticket!" Austin said, willingly volunteering.
Levi squinted his eyes at his roommate. "Maybe I should move out of our flat too."
Austin put on an expression of fake hurt, while gripping his heart. "But who else will I bother when you're gone?"
                              Levi rolled his eyes.
In the lives of Nate, Brandi, Levi, ans Austin, this was as normal as it would ever get.
