Brandi was laying on her bed, staring up at her ceiling, and waiting for time to pass. It was around 2 AM and she just couldn't sleep. Something was keeping her from drifting off and she didn't know what it was.
"Psst," she heard someone hiss from outside her window, followed by a few tapping sounds. "Hey, Brandi."
She approached her window, slowly, and opened it up as a pebble flew past her face and hit the wall.
"Whoops, my bad," Drew giggled as he disposed the handful of pebbles he had into a nearby bush.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Waking you up. What does it look like?" Drew was all bubbly and giggly and it was two in the morning. This definitely wasn't normal.
"How much chocolate did you eat?" Brandi asked, rolling her eyes.
"I had two chocolate bars and some coffee."
                              "How much coffee?"
                              "Too much."
Drew's heart was probably beating a million times a minute and he knew that he would crash so hard after his little sugar rush and probably die. He just accepted the fact that he would die young and lonely.
"Brandi Jones, let down your beautiful golden hair," he said, holding his arms out and Brandi rolled her eyes at him again.
"This window is only four feet high, Drew. Don't be stupid."
Drew pouted. "I'm not trying to be stupid. I'm trying to be cheesy."
Brandi threw her head back to let out a brilliant laugh and Drew didn't know why she was laughing. Was it something he said?
Brandi reached over to grab both sides of Drew's face. "You're adorable."
                              "Thanks," Drew replied.
He watched as she climbed onto the ledge and jump down, nearly losing her balance, and then dusting herself off. If Drew had done that, he would probably end up with his face in the dirt.
                              "How do you do that?"
"Do what?" Brandi questioned with one eyebrow raised.
                              "Not mess up."
"What do you mean? I mess up all the time," she replied. "It was only four feet, Drew."
                              "Oh. Alright."
Drew took a huge chance and intertwined their fingers together, but Brandi didn't even pull away. Instead, she squeezed it tighter and looked at him with a glint of mischief in her eyes, which matched her mischievous smile.
Both of them walked over to his car— Drew only had a learner's permit, but that wouldn't stop them from going on an adventure— and Brandi got into the passenger's seat as Drew took his place behind the wheel.
"Do you have anything to say?" Brandi asked as Drew revved up the engine and the radio came to life, revealing what he had been listening to on his way here. Of course he was listening to All Time Low.
Drew looked up for a minute, contemplating on what to say, then he smirked. "Long live the reckless and the brave."
"Don't you mean, long live us?"
                              "Same thing."
                              ~
"Take a left there," Brandi instructed, pointing to a road with no lights at all.
