MONDAY, DECEMBER 1st 2018"okay, tell me once more why you're going back to the 80s when no one there remembers who you are?" harrison asks as we sit in his parked car with no lights on.
we're pulled off on the side of the road by the portal. i feel like i'm here more than i'm at my own house.
"because i need to give all the boys these letters. it's the entire story of everything that happened to me during my time travel experience. everything about all of our friendships." i say, looking down at the 3 envelopes in my hands.
"what if they lose them?"
"they better not! this is my only hope of them possibly remembering me one day! i want them to read it and have it all come back to them."
"how are you gonna find them? it's not like you can call a meeting and have them all show up, you're a stranger to them now!" harry says with a worried tone in his voice.
"yeah, thanks for reminding me." i frown, "back in the 80s, stranger danger wasn't a thing. i'm just gonna call all of them individually and ask where they are." i shrug my shoulders.
harry rolls his eyes at me, "you better be careful."
"i will be. i shouldn't be longer than 2 hours. you'll be here to pick me up and go back to your place?" i ask.
"yup." he nods his head.
"okay." i say.
i'm reluctant to open the door and head into the portal. i hate seeing my best friends not remembering who i am.
harrison raises his eyebrow as we sit silently in his car, "are we gonna kiss right now?"
that knocks me out of my overthinking loop of thoughts.
i let out a scoff, "you wish."
he begins to laugh as i unbuckle my seatbelt and then hop out onto the curb.
"i'll miss you, my love!" he sarcastically calls out.
"shut up, harrison." i mumble, closing the car door and then heading into the thicket of trees.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 1st 1987
i was right about no stranger danger in the 80s. after calling the guys and asking where they are, they didn't give it a second thought to tell me their current location.
fortunately for me, they're all in the same place - rainbow bar and grill.
i pull open the doors to the bar and immediately i'm struck with guns n' roses blasting, and the smell of hamburgers and cigarette smoke.
this place is bustling with people. even in the parking lot, there has to be at least 200 people tailgating outside.
i keep my eyes peeled for the guys while trying my best not to bump into anyone. i'm getting weird stares from everyone, but i guess it makes sense that i am.
why the hell is this small girl walking around a place filled with rock musicians who have better hair than she does? i'm asking myself the same thing.
my eyes light up as i see jason and the corey's seated in one of the red leather booths. i make a beeline straight for them.
"hey! hey!" i raise my voice over the music to try and grab their attention. their heads whip over towards me.
corey haim's eyebrows furrow, "sidewalk girl?"
"what?" i ask, standing in front of their table.
"you're the girl who showed up at my house the other week! the one i showed my drawing to!"
"oh, that i am." i nod my head.
"who the hell is she?" i hear feldman ask as he leans closer to corey.
i roll my eyes at their ignorance. their memories are so far gone, none of them can even recall the day we got breakfast together at that diner.
"you still never told me your name." haim looks up at me.
"you were supposed to figure it out." i say, referring to his jfk drawing, "but that's besides the point! i need you three to take these."
i hand each of them their letters. they take the envelopes from me skeptically, looking at them like they've never seen mail before.
"what's in it? drugs?" haim's eyes are popping out his head and he tosses the envelope onto the table.
"god no! it's a letter and you can't lose it! ever!"
"are you a fan or something?" feldman asks me, "is this fan-mail?"
"no, it's not fan-mail." i shake my head, "but please, keep it safe. open it one day. can all of you promise me that?"
the three of them exchange looks before shrugging and nodding their heads, yes.
"so if you aren't a fan, how'd you find us here tonight?" feldman asks.
"i was the one that called all of you just 30 minutes ago?" i say, but it comes out more like a question.
"you have my number?" jason speaks up.
i nod my head.
"hm." he smirks, "well that's nice, because i was gonna ask for yours anyway."
leave it to my own boyfriend to forget my existence entirely and then still flirt with me. i guess that's a good sign though, he must actually love me.
"yeah, yeah." i sigh, taking a seat next to jason in the booth, "what're you guys doing here anyway?"
"before filming the lost boys, we came here for inspiration." jason says proudly.
i furrow my eyebrows, confused, "inspiration-"
"look around, sidewalk girl." feldman says, "doesn't everybody here look like vampires who reside in santa carla?"
i glance around at the extensive amount of men in here. all of their hair is long and teased with an absurd amount of volume.
"they look like metalheads, to me." i shrug, "i can see it though, the vampire vibes."
"why're you making us read these letters? why can't you just tell us what's in them?" corey haim asks.
"because you guys keep forgetting things and i think you need it in writing. that way it's a permanent reminder of everything." i explain.
the three of them look at me with the same bewildered expression.
feldman laughs, "i think she's the one that's on drugs."
i let out a sigh and stand up from the booth, "listen i have to go, but please, keep them safe. read them in a month or so. hopefully by then all these weird coincidences will calm down."
"what coincidences?" jason asks.
"never mind!" i shake my head, and then head towards the exit of this place.
i pray to god these boys listen to instructions well. the fact that they can't remember who i am has to mean something.
my best bet is that these weird coincidences and the men in suits have something to do with it.
i just can't figure it out though.
