WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3rd 2018

my mouth is so dry, my tongue feels like sandpaper. my head is pounding with a splitting headache, it hurts to lift it up right.

i try to sit up straighter but my wrists are restrained, metal clangs against more metal. my eyes snap open but the fluorescent light hanging above my head stings at them. suddenly, it feels intensely cold around me and i'm struck with nausea.

i take in my surroundings. i'm in a dimly lit, small room, cuffed to a chair in the middle of it. a mirror hangs on the wall directly in front of me.

i look at myself in it, there's a cut on the corner of my lip, dried blood surrounding it.

my heart begins to pound wondering how i got myself into this predicament. i don't even know what this predicament is, however.

the door to my left opens and i flinch to the opposite side of my chair, trying to get as far away as possible even though i'm handcuffed to it.

a man in a suit appears. his movements are quick as he closes the door behind him and pulls up a chair directly in front of me. he has platinum blonde hair that swirls into tight curls and freckles spotted across his nose. if my ankles weren't cuffed to the chair as well as my wrists, i'd probably be trying to kick him right now.

"i'm sure you have questions." he nods his head at me, "but so do we."

i remain silent as i look into his dark, blue eyes.

"i believe your friends have mentioned us to you. we're apart of a scientific research cooperation located out in alaska. i can't tell you our official name but we like to call ourselves the founders." he gives me a sly smirk.

so these are the weird, suited up men jason and the corey's have been talking about.

"how long have i been here?" i ask, my voice coming out raspy.

"only about an hour and a half? maybe two. it would've only been an hour 'till you woke up from the chloroform, but-"

my heart drops to my stomach and my eyes widen.

the man lets out a sigh, "you also hit your head. that's why your lip's bloody. we have a new guy with us, his name's jim. he's not very gentle, i tried to warn him you were gonna try and fight him off. he just didn't listen-"

"what do you want from me?" i cut him off.

"we have questions regarding your recent transtemporal travel, time travel, if you will."

i roll my eyes, but instantly regret it as it brings back my headache.

"i have questions about my time travel too. i don't understand it either, so i don't know how i could possibly help you." i say in a sarcastic tone.

"we study metaphysics and we've never seen a case quite like yours before." he leans forward placing his elbows on his knees, "we were able to watch everything that took place during your time travel. i know that might sound like an invasion of your privacy but i promise we looked at all of it as scientific evidence for our research." he holds up his hands in defense.

"jesus." i mumble to myself as i glance around the room.

"so, if you could just answer a few questions," he pulls out a pen and a tiny notepad from his inner coat pocket, "we'll have you on your way-"

"cut the bullshit." i shake my head, "i'm not answering any of your stupid questions. i want you to tell me why you guys showed up now. why are you visiting all of my friends at their houses and why did you kidnap me tonight?"
