kennedy's point of view

"what is it with you and sneaking into places?" i grunted as i held myself up against the side of corey haim's house.

"what do you mean?" jason asked as he hoisted himself up onto the lower roof. he bent down and grabbed my hands, helping pull me up too.

"you made me sneak into a bar with you that one time."

"oh yeah, isn't it fun?" he smiled as i finally stood to my feet, out of breath.

"we could've just called them."

"pfft, that wouldn't wake them up." jason shook his head, "but this will." he walked towards corey's window and surprisingly it was left unlocked since he was able to open it.

"come on." he motioned with his head to follow him in. i sighed as i bent down and watched jason effortlessly hop into corey's room. his desk was pushed up against the window so i had to be careful stepping over it or i would definitely knock something off of it.

jason began whispering corey's name and shaking him out of his sleep. he looked so peaceful, wrapped up in his blue comforter.

corey's eyes slowly opened and when he looked at his surroundings, he screamed.

"shh!" jason held out his hands, "it's just me and kennedy."

corey was now sitting up all the way to the other side of his bed, gripping at his covers for dear life.

"what the hell are you guys doing in my room?" he whisper-yelled.

"it was his idea, not mine!" i pointed to jason.

"kennedy's not having a good night so i said we should hang out with you and feldman to cheer her up." jason proudly said.

"oh, i'm flattered." he sarcastically said and then furrowed his eyebrows, looking behind him at his alarm clock, and then turning back to us, "but at 1:30 in the morning?"

"are you in or not?"

he slouched in his bed, "yeah i'm in."

"yay!" i smiled.

"great, lets go get feldman now."

breaking into feldman's house pretty much went the same way it did at haim's. there was lots of screaming involved once he woke up to the three of us surrounding his bed. now, we are currently in the car on our way to the nearest 7/11.

"god, i swear everything you guys do is like cult behavior. the secret meetings where you make us sit in a circle, waking us up at the crack of dawn ... for what? gas station slurpees?" feldman complained in the back seat.

"would you rather be sleeping or getting a gas station slurpee?" i turned around to look at him, "that's the real question."

he rolled his eyes at me and i laughed.

"you know what, i'm thankful you guys broke into my house and kidnapped me. i'm starving so this is great." haim smiled as we pulled into the 7/11 parking lot.

the four of us got out of the car and made our way inside. the bright fluorescent lights were like a shock to my eyes from being in the dark for hours. jason and i walked to the back of the store, heading for the slurpee station. we lost the corey's since they went straight to the snack aisles.

"are you a cherry or coke girl?" jason asked, holding two cups.

i smiled, "cherry."

i watched as filled the cup up with the red, frozen drink. he then grabbed a straw and handed it to me.

"thank you." i smiled before taking a sip.

"blue raspberry?" i asked, watching him pull the lever of that flavor.

"yeah, it's the best one."

"it's the worst one!"

out of no where, the corey's came running towards us, knocking into a couple stands on the way.

i jumped as they entered our vicinity so quickly. they looked paranoid.

"what?" i asked, using my straw to stir my drink.

"um, don't move." haim said, standing as still as a statue.

"why?" i asked.

feldman was slowly turning his head to look behind us towards the front of the store.

"uh- we don't know for sure but ..." haim turned around too, "but, we think-"

"your aunt maggie is here." feldman interrupted corey.

i could see out of my peripheral vision that jason was standing the same way i was. frozen in place, slurpee in hand, not knowing what the fuck to do next.

"she- she can't see kennedy! she can't see her presumed dead niece in a 7/11 at 2 in the morning!" jason whispered frantically.

"well what do we do?" haim exclaimed.

as the three boys quickly racked their brains for ideas on how to get out of here without being seen, all i could say was, "i'm surprised she's still alive. and in california?" i laughed.

"i would've thought she'd been in florida or some shit, coked out!"

"kennedy, get down!" haim grabbed my wrist and pulled me so i was hunched over below the top of the aisle.

"what's she doing?" i asked, looking up at jason and feldman.

"she's just standing at the counter with some guy."

"okay, we're gonna make a run for it." feldman decided.

"we can't check out if she's at the counter!" i said.

"well, tonight we're stealing." he nodded his head, looking at all the unpaid snacks in our hands.

"go!" jason said, throwing his hoodie over top my head.

i felt someone's hand grab my arm before forcing me to run alongside them.

"i can't see anything!" i yelled at the same time an angry man's voice rang through ears.

"hey, stop! you didn't pay for any of that!"

i heard the ding of the front door opening and ran towards the sound. i could feel the cold air against my skin and knew we were outside. i ripped the hoodie off of my head and quickly got into the backseat of jason's car.

"go, go, go!" feldman yelled at jason to put the keys in the ignition.

i watched out the window as a frazzled aunt maggie and some random guy stood together as the store worker seemed to be calling the cops.

"oh, no! my cheezits!" haim cried out and my eyes landed on his bag of cheezits that laid on the pavement outside.

"sorry, buddy." jason said, and then slammed his foot down on the gas to reverse out of the parking lot.
