hunter slammed the door closed after practically throwing me in here. we were in some large storage closet and i felt absolutely threatened.

"do you know what's gonna happen kennedy? if you keep acting crazy like this?" his voice was only above a whisper but to me it sounded like he was screaming.

"crazy?" i almost laughed, "nothing that i'm doing is crazy!"

he ignored me, "you're gonna lose your job here. soon everything will be released to the public. they already know you as the girl who can fucking time travel!" hunter laughed in a psychotic way, "add some legal shit to that where you're not the victim ..." he shook his head, "it'll be over for you."

the way he was talking to me, demeaning me, and the fact i was locked in a fucking closet with him, was making me panic from the similarities of this situation to the one i had with greg beeman.

it all felt too familiar, and there's no way it would end well if i didn't stick up for myself. but that's a very hard thing to do when you're a puddle of anxiety.

i took in a deep breath. he was still running his mouth but i couldn't even hear him. it's like my hearing went completely muffled.

"listen hunter," i blurted out, "the day we met in that elevator you were fucking star-struck by me. you took me to one of your gigs and assumed zoe told me about some dirt she had on you."

"she did tell you! i know she did!" he raised his voice.

"yeah, she did! and that scared you, didn't it? to you, i was probably just another girl on the list you wanted to see how far you could get with."

he kept his mouth shut, listening to me as i spoke.

"i know your secrets. deep secrets that will ruin you. so you turned it on me. got your dad to erase your record or some shit and you're trying to turn it all on me. like i'm the one in the wrong." i stepped closer to him, "well let me tell you something, you're not gonna get away with this. i'm gonna make sure of it, and you'll be the one to lose your job here and everything else."

he grabbed my wrist as i tried to walk past him. his finger tips dug into my skin.

"they're not gonna believe you." he rasped, "you claim you can time travel, have a history of drug abuse ... who knows, maybe that coma you were in seriously fucked up your brain. i'm just a nice kid who's studying film. they're not gonna believe you."

i studied his face for a second. a smug, smirk was tugging at the corner of his lips. everything he just said was exactly what greg told me too. trying to talk me down, make me think i'm the crazy one.

it's weird how history repeats itself.

"yeah ... i've heard that before." i pulled my arm away from his grip, and opened the door. i walked as fast and as far as i could away from him.

something about the way he threatened me only made me want to prove him wrong even more. and that's exactly what i intend to do.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31st 2018

"kennedy!" the loud yell of my own name made me jolt from my peaceful slumber. it took a minute to realize what was going on, but my opened laptop and harry's face staring back at me reminded me.

"jesus, we fell asleep on facetime?" i sleepily, groaned.

"yes, and you've been knocked for hours. it's 1 in the afternoon."

"why didn't you hang up?" i covered my mouth as i yawned.

"because i'm a good friend?" he said, as if i was stupid for not thinking of that myself, "are you going to the party tonight or what?"

"party?"

"the halloween party i told you about last night. it's at 7 tonight."

"we already went to a halloween party! the one where corey haim showed up at."

"yeah, but that was at the beginning of the month. now it's literally halloween so we have to go."

i sat up, pulling my comforter around my shoulders so it was wrapped tightly around my whole body.

"yeah, sure i'll go. but i don't have a costume." i mumbled.

"don't worry, i've got one planned for us."

i raised my eyebrows. i can't even imagine a couples costume planned by harrison. who knows what that boy came up with.

"are you gonna tell me what it is?" i asked.

"hell no! it's a surprise." he cheekily smiled, rubbing his palms together.

"great." i sighed.

"you'll like it, i promise. i'll pick you up at 6:30?"

"6:30 for 7? where is this party?"

i watched as harry shifted in his position on his bed, "um ... it may or may not be the party of the girl who cheated on me and we uh ... vandalized her car."

i leaned closer to my laptop screen, eyebrows furrowed, "harry, are you dumb!? she called the cops on us, we can't be seen there!"

"it's a big ass house, ken. we'll stay clear of her the whole night." he tried to reassure me.

i leaned back against my pillows in deep thought for a second, and then i said, "you're lucky you're one of my bestfriends."

"aye, i knew you'd be down!" harry cheered, "okay, i'll see you at 6:30."

"bye, harry." i shook my head and then closed my laptop to disconnect the call.
