CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Living on your own is so freeing. After I left platform 9 3/4 I drained my vault in gringrotts bank and I bought a small house not too far from mine but just far enough.

It had 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths with a decent size kitchen and a huge master bedroom. It seemed as though by the time I moved in and got settled 3 years had passed. I still hadn't talked to anyone not even my parents.

I had bought a muggle car for transportation. I wanted to feel normal. Felt like I belonged somewhere. Sometimes I would just drive in my car for hours listening to music. But at some point I knew had to come back to reality,

I was sitting on my couch one day when there was a sudden knock. I opened the door.

"Daphne. What are you doing here?" I said. "I think that it's finally time that we see each other. I mean it's been three years".

"I would of thought you wouldn't of wanted to speak to me after everything that happened".

"People change". She said. "Why today what why are you here". "Can I come over for lunch tomorrow?"

"What time?" I asked. " noon".

"See you tomorrow".

I spent lots of time preparing for tomorrow's special lunch. Physically and mentally. I gathered all my thoughts about what I wanted to ask. What I shouldn't ask.

I ordered food from our favorite restaurant. I sat on my couch staring at the front door and when the clock struck twelve she knocked.

"I missed you so much". She pulled me into a hug. I barely wrapped my arms around her. "This is nice". She walked around my couch.

I shut the door.

"So shall we just get straight to the point".

"Right". She said. "First of all how do you know I live here".

"I have friends that live in this neighborhood". She said.

Of all the places I choose.

She grabbed food and sat on the couch.

"How is Draco". "He's doing alright. He wants us to call off the wedding and breakup".

"You guys are engaged?" "Not for much longer".

"How long have you guys been engaged". "Less than a year". She said. "Where are you guys staying?"

"At the Maywood manor. Mum and Dad said we could stay there until we find a place".

"How's Astoria?" "She's doing great. She's dating this muggle". "She graduated last year right?" I asked.

"Yeah. She actually had planned on coming here first but she never did". She said. "You guys have known for that long?"

She nodded. "I always thought about calling or just showing up at the manor. But I didn't know how you would react". I said.

"I'm not mad anymore you know". I was confused.

"Adrian reached out a year ago and told us that he was drunk and that he made it all up". She said.

Something in my stomach fluttered. He lied for me. Well partly. I always knew he was a good guy.

" I miss everyone how's Blaise and Pansy?"

"There doing great actually Blaise is expecting baby #1. He just announced". "Oh my goodness!"

I almost cried. I dreamed of the day one of us would have there first baby.

"They asked about you in both of there last letters. They both feel bad". She said. "I'll write to them soon".

She stared at the floor. Waiting for my next question.

"Why does Draco want to call off the engagement?"

" We don't really have the best communication right now. We aren't on the same pages".

"I'm sorry to hear. You know I always thought you'd be with each other forever".

"Yeah well me to".  She said. "He'd probably stay with yuu it if he found out you were pregnant... sorry I didn't mean that".

"Your right". She got up putting on her shoes. "Daphne what are you planning?  I asked. "I plan to tell him I'm pregnant".

"But what if yo don't get pregnant in time? Or what if he doesn't want too?"

"I'll figure it out". She kissed my head. "Love you". She ran down my driveway.

"Love you too". I said softly. She left me there standing In shock.

It was about 10 minutes later before I finally moved, I paced around my house over and over.

I had to tell him I had to and I picked up the phone and dialed the maywood manor

Those of you who didn't know I started another part 2 for this book and I realized they are both too short so I'm just combining them. I'm transferring all the writing to this books and changing the name to promise D|M.
