They ended up going on a date and spending the night together, just two of them having fun on a warm Paris summer without any troubles. Obviously he had assumed that Gabriel would still be there in the morning.
Unfortunately, he was wrong.
Because Alex was at his home, he wondered for a while if he should leave or stay here and wait for him to come back. At least Gabriel left him a note, a very short one.
Went out, didn't want to wake you up! There's breakfast on the fridge and you can stay as long as you want :)
With a smiley face, how fucking adorable. The least Gabriel could have said was whether he wanted to spend a day together. Alex was all in for another date, especially because the clock was ticking and their days were slowly running out.
After taking a shower, he didn't bother staying much longer. Who knew how long Gabriel would be out? What was he even doing that was so important? He was on a vacation, which meant that he didn't have to hurry anywhere all the time!
When he went outside, he decided to grab coffee before going back to his temporary home. While thinking of Gabriel, like he seemed to do most of the time lately, he got a surprise of a lifetime when he saw him. That wasn't the shocking part but the fact that he wasn't alone. In fact, it looked like he was on a date with another man!
Well, good for him. He had thought that what they had meant something for Gabriel but clearly he was wrong. Because there he was, holding another man's hand outside a coffee shop.
He was a good-looking man, that he couldn't deny. From where Alex stood, he could see tanned skin, long dark curly hair and a very handsome face. He was very... opposite of blonde and pale Gabriel. This was the man Gabriel rushed to after their night?
Alright then, message received. He was hurt but what annoyed him even more was the fact that he couldn't tell him that. Gabriel should have told him that he wasn't interested before going out with someone else. Also, he definitely shouldn't have slept with him and led him on!
This was actually a good thing. Now Alex was able to leave this country and go home without a care in the world. Was he really going to try a long-distance relationship with a guy he had known only two weeks? Was he such a big idiot who could settle down only for one person and get serious for once?
Yes, he was. As much as he hated to admit it, no one had interested him after meeting Gabriel Beaumont and getting to know him. Seven billion people in the world and he couldn't see anyone else anymore. How fucked up was that?
Without looking back at the couple, Alex started to continue his walk towards Lincoln's home, this time walking a bit faster just to make sure that Gabriel didn't see him. He wouldn't want to interrupt their date even if he wanted to.
When he got to his temporary home, he saw his friend on the couch, cuddling with Èlise while watching some movie Alex didn't recognize. He was already in a bad mood and seeing them together annoyed him even more.
Because he slammed the door behind him very loudly, he immediately got the attention of those two. "Hey, Alex. Èlise is here if you don't mind."
"Whatever!" he mumbled angrily and immediately went to the kitchen to get something to eat. He was starving!
For some reason, Lincoln and Èlise laughed at what he said which made him look at them frowning. "What's with the attitude? Didn't get any last night? Did Gabe reject you?" Èlise joked, making Lincoln laugh even longer.
"Shut up, I don't have an attitude!" Alex said, looked inside the fridge and cursed out loud. "Why the fuck isn't there any food?"
"Oh no, there's some trouble at the paradise," he heard Lincoln whisper to her. God, it was like they were trying to annoy him on purpose! If anything, they were the ones with attitude problems, not him.
