He was in danger.

It was a matter of life and death and Alexander Sutton couldn't know for sure if he could stay alive. The enemy was getting stronger and stronger each second and he might as well give what she wanted before she destroyed him completely.

"Do it again! Again and again and again and again!" Grace was sitting on his shoulders, keeping a tight hold on his head and hair that would probably fall to the floor any second with the way she was pulling it.

He had just ran all around the house while carrying the four years old. A few years later that would probably bore her to death but for now, she enjoyed it. Alex would do anything for his nieces and they knew it, used it for their advantage and kept him busy whenever they met. He was definitely the cool uncle or at least tried to be.

"Why don't you go to a beauty sleep or draw with Faith?" he asked, talking about her twin sister. When she denied his request without any shame, he ended up running around the house three more times. That's when his brother-in-law decided to take a break from cooking and interrupted their fun.

"Oh, you're still alive. That's a surprise," smirked Julian who enjoyed a little break from his children.

Even though Alex was a good 6'2 feet, this very muscular man was still one of the few people who was taller than him. Julian was rocking the brown man bun that had been part of his look as long as Alex had known him and he had dozens of tattoos around his body.

Alex chuckled and walked towards the man before dropping his frustrated niece gently into his arms. That made Grace frown at both adults.

"Am I not as cool as your uncle? Come on darlin', don't break my heart," Julian smiled before kissing her forehead. Before she could answer, he started to tickle the girl while still holding her tightly in his arms, making her burst out laughing while begging to be free.

"Food's almost ready. Mags called and told us to start before her because she will be late," Julian said, putting Grace to the floor where she ran away somewhere.

"Did she tell what time she's gonna be here?" When he shook his head, Alex couldn't help but frown in annoyance and worry.

His sister would end up killing herself one day with these long shifts. The never-ending work started already when she was around ten years old. Even at such a young age, she would read hours and hours for different exams while trying to be the best. No one asked her for that but she was a determined little girl even then.

It was all worth it because now she was known as one of the best pediatricians in Michigan and he couldn't be more proud. Eventually, he got his dream job too, being a co-owner of a sports bar. At first, he planned to do it alone but when he realized that he had no idea how, he asked for his best friend to join.

Drinking in the bar and having fun? What a blast! Sport? Another one of his many passions. So why not mix them up and get money while doing it? Of course it was nowhere as simple as that but at least he could say without lying that he liked his job.

Despite owning a bar together and being best friends for over a decade, he and Harry Schneider were two very different people. His friend was the one who took care of all paperwork, money and such things while Alex often did the part of their job that involved being social with other people.

Harry didn't hate people, his social skills just weren't the greatest. Alex had wondered a lot of why he agreed to join the business but despite everything, he seemed to enjoy what he did. Now Alex couldn't imagine doing this alone or worse, with someone else.
