During that day, Gabriel got to know Alex's family better. His boyfriend's! A grin came immediately to his face when he repeated those words in his mind. They had stayed there for hours, just hanging out and now it felt like nothing could ruin his good mood.

When he had gotten over his fear and messaged Maggie, they talked a little bit before making plans of how to work out his visit. That made sense, of course she wanted to know more about the man who knew this much about her and Alex.

After proving to her that he wasn't a crazy stalker, he had explained quickly how they had met, how long they knew each other and what their relationship was like without going into any dirty details. She was actually very nice and accepting of such an unusual situation. Just before they said goodbye, she had promised to make her stubborn brother listen to him.

They had agreed that instead of making Alex listen to him over a phone, it would be smarter and a better surprise if Gabriel flew to him. They had arranged the date and planned it very well, making sure that Alex wouldn't have any idea of what was happening.

He had flown to the United States early in the morning and finally met the infamous Maggie and her family. She had been even nicer when she hugged him and welcomed the strange man into her house. Then she talked to him as if they were best friends, not even bothering to hide how excited she was that Alex had found someone.

Her husband Julian also greeted him and asked a few questions but mostly let his wife do the talking. They were adorable together and clearly loved each other a lot.

As for the girls? Grace and Faith were the cutest children he had ever met even after they bullied him for his accent, saying how weird he sounded. That had only amused him but Maggie got angry, giving them a whole speech about bullying and how wrong it was to judge someone only for the way they talked.

When it was time to finally meet Alex for the first time in over a month, he had been nervous. Very nervous. Maggie had to practically force him to stay sitting on the couch and somehow managed to calm him down. And Alex was angry, so betrayed. But he could also see how sad he was which felt like a stab in the heart.

And it all led to Gabriel eating lunch with them and even Alex's best friend was coming over. Apparently, Maggie had immediately texted him and told him about the big surprise and Harry had wanted to see it with his own eyes.

It was unclear how often the man joined the family plans but after everything Gabriel had heard, he wouldn't be surprised if Harry was considered as a sixth family member.

"Hey, fam! What's new in the house?" A loud voice shouted, making him turn around and see who was talking.

Following Julian was a black-haired man who looked to be barely 5'11 feet tall. He had black eyeliner under his eyes and he was wearing all black clothes, sneakers, jeans and a long-sleeved shirt even though it was August. He was also wearing earrings and he could see a peek of an tattoo on his right shoulder.

"Look who's on a good mood! Tell me, what's new in your life?" Maggie wiggled her eyebrows before going to take one more chair to the table. The man - Harry? - smirked, washed hands before kissing her cheek and joined the table. Without another word, he took a plate and started to put food on it. After that, he finally paid attention to Gabriel.

"Hey, you! Harry Schneider," he smiled and shook his hand. It wasn't the same smile he had given to Maggie. No, it was a real smile but smaller, a bit hesitant and yet friendly. Gabriel immediately got a feeling that this person was good and accepting and someone worth having in your life. And if he was Alex's best friend, he couldn't be too wrong about it.

"Gabriel Beaumont, it's nice to meet you!" he said, feeling a bit awkward under the eyes that kept staring at him. There was still a smile on Harry's lips but he could almost hear his thoughts that kept wondering if he was good enough for his best friend.
