ᗪᗩƳ 31We'd been on the road for a month and I couldn't lie... I missed Noah.
And I wasn't talking about the physical stuff... well I missed that too, but with Noah... it was more than that.
I missed the nights we'd spend up together.
The nights when I'd sneak into his bunk.
The nights he could make me have to stifle back a laugh with just a pout on his face.
The nights we'd just listen to music in our headphones together, sharing our favorite songs, or texting back and forth.
But apparently... I wasn't enough for him.
It seems like every time we all go out, he ends up sucking face with some random groupie or cocktail waitress and I felt like an idiot every time I saw it; but I was a Fox-- I knew how to save face.
We were rolling into New York City early in the morning, the night after the boys' show in Boston.
They were performing at Madison Square Garden later tonight and then we'd all have a week-and-a-half-long break before their first show back in Buffalo, the city they're all from.
As we rolled past a 'Welcome to New York' sign, the boys, cheered, hooted, and hollered, making me shake my head at their silliness.
After 31 days off being on a bus with five boys, I was ready for a few days away from them as well.
"Feels good to be home."
"Home? Isn't Buffalo, like, super far from here?"
I rolled my eyes at Luke, shaking my head as we got off the bus. We had finally gotten to the arena, and the boys had about an hour until they had sound-check.
"It's a six-hour drive from here, but I get what Luke means. It feels good to be back in our home state. Kinda like you and all those places you talk about, Cali-girl."
I smirked when Ryder threw his arm over my shoulder, grinning down at me as we approached the back entrance of the arena.
"No worries, Sadie. I know this city pretty well. Consider me your very own personal tour guide."
I rolled my eyes and playfully shoved him a bit, before he pulled me back in, closer, this time, as we entered the arena.
It took us a few minutes, but once we finally made it to the band's green room, shock and excitement were coursing through my system.
Missy and Ricky were casually standing over the billiards table shooting around while my mouth hung open.
"Wait. Wh-what-what are you guys doing here?"
"Your dad flew us out."
Missy looked over at Ricky and the two then looked back at me with devilish grins on their faces.
"Yeah... something about you not being by yourself for a week...?"
I ran over and jumped into the arms of my two best friends, not ready to wake up from what I knew had to be a dream.
✨
"Well... I didn't want you spending ten days in the city by yourself."
I knit my eyebrow in confusion as my dad explained why he'd flown my best friends out.
"What?"
"I know how much you didn't feel like going back to Miami. Then I heard you wanted to explore the city, so you don't have to go with Jay to Buffalo."
I smiled brightly before biting my lip in anticipation.
"What?"
"You're not a baby anymore, Sades, your mom and I agreed. You're-- you're an adult now... with a good head on her shoulders. We trust you."
