Roger, the boys' tour manager had just spent the last ten minutes screaming at everyone on the bus. Before that, we were in the room where the 'meet and greet' was, and he was screaming there too... just not as loud.
My fingers were fiddling wildly together as I tried my best not to cry in my seat in the kitchenette.
I knew this had all been my fault and as Jay's stare that was fixed on me became colder the longer Roger grilled into us, the worse I felt.
As we departed from the only venue where a show was canceled that summer, everyone was silent.
Nobody was really sure how big this incident would be in the media or if it was even gonna really take off.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Jay pushed himself off the counter he was leaning against and began making his way toward the stairs.
Once he was standing at the base, he turned back to look at us, an icy glare on his face when he eyed Noah.
"There's gonna be a band meeting tomorrow morning. And since we're rolling into town earlier than expected, I suggest everyone get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow could be a long day."
I rolled my eyes, ignoring Jay's threats, turning back to Noah as Jay walked up the stairs. We all jumped a little, staring back at the stairwell when Jay screamed from upstairs.
"Until then, everyone should just leave me the fuck alone."

I woke up early the next day, even though the boys had an 'off-day'. I could help but wonder if last night's VIPs said anything and my stomach and heart were nervously rattling around inside.
Noah attacking a fan would be potentially career-ending for both Noah and the rest of the boys, and even though I knew I shouldn't have even checked social media, I did.
But when I did, I was pleasantly surprised.
The VIP fans that were there last night were all in the same group on Facebook and luckily, one intuitive fan had caught a video from when Alex first approached me.
Little did the boys or I know that while he was waiting in line, Alex kept going on and on about how he was still the love of Jay's little sister's life and he wasn't going anywhere until he proved it to her.
Talk about fucking creepy, right?!
About an hour before we rolled into Pittsburg, Noah got a call from his road manager, who let Noah and I know we had a phone-in radio interview basically as soon as we got to the hotel.
Jay rolled his eyes, going back upstairs, probably to talk to Marissa or play video games or sulk, and I shook my head, focusing back on Noah's Facetime call with Roger.
"Rog, look, you might not know this, but I never wanted to make this a huge deal for everyone else. This is just for me and him."
