"Yeah, let's go."
I grabbed Sadie's hand and walked her out of catering, ignoring the whistles and hollers we were getting as we left.
By now, everyone knew that we were together, and regardless of what her brother or anyone else said, this was a feeling I wasn't ever planning on letting go.
"Where do you wanna go for lunch, babe? Anything, in particular, you in the mood for?"
Our fingers laced together as we left the arena and she shrugged, saying she wasn't that hungry, and I immediately knew that something was wrong.
My girl was a foodie and she was always hungry.
We had a little time before tonight's show and I planned on spending every one of those seconds with Sadie.

We found an ice cream truck in a nearby parking lot and after deciding to split an ice cream sundae, we found ourselves sitting at a picnic-style table together.
I watched as Sadie swirled her spoon through the ice cream, avoiding my gaze, and I couldn't help but feel an emptiness in my stomach. She was avoiding something and I could tell, but I knew trying to pry it out of her might just make everything worse.
"Hey. You okay?"
Her sweet voice bellowed through my ears, and as I looked over at her, I felt a sudden ease.
I nodded, understanding that this would be a 'crossroads' moment in my life, and I was ready for it.
"I'm okay. But Sades, listen..."
I set my spoon back in the sundae bowl alongside Sadie's before setting it aside and grabbing her hands.
They were shaky as I sighed but finally steadied themself when my blue eyes found those almond brown orbs that haunted my dreams in the best way possible.
"I just... I wanted to talk to you about... after the tour, ya know? About what's next...?"
"What is next, Noah?"
She made this uncomfortable face and my heart slumped; she wasn't gonna want me anymore?
"What do you mean, Sades?"
"Well, I don't know. I mean, doesn't what's next have more to do with you guys and if you're going on tour or not in Europe?"
I opened my mouth to say something but ultimately bit my tongue; no matter what way Sadie could've found out about the next leg of the tour, I should've been the one to tell her about my plans.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Her voice was strained and broken, and all I could do was shake my head and hold onto her hands, praying she wouldn't pull away.
"Babe, I'm sorry. I should've told you, I just--"
Her eyes were wide and as she bit her lip, looking at me expectantly and it felt like my life was slipping away.
"I was dreading what would happen between us. If we go on the tour... I mean, how would I survive without you around all the time? I never wanna let you go."
She smiled shyly, with her bottom lip sought between her teeth.
"Me, too. Noah, I-- I love you."
I closed my eyes for a moment, smiling at the sound of those words leaving my girl's lip.
My heart tightened and I felt my hands trembling as they held Sadie's.
I exhaled and opened my eyes again, seeing my entire world looking at me longingly.
"I love you, too."
She let out a little squeal, which made me chuckle before we both leaned across the table. I smirked a little, feeling her smile against my lips and I knew this was the moment that would change everything forever.
"Marry me?"
