"Yo! Get your asses on the bus! We gotta go!"
The boys had literally just run off the stage in Tampa, and everyone was excited to finally get to Miami. Since my dad would be staying in his downtown condo, he was letting the boys and me stay at our place on Star Island in Miami.
Jay was the first one back on the bus, ready to head out, yelling at all of us as we boarded the bus one by one.
"Damn, Sades. What's taking you so long?"
"For fuck's sake, Jay, calm down. We'll be home in, like, four hours and you guys are off tomorrow. We'll have plenty of time to chill at the house."
He rolled his eyes and shook his head at me, walking straight to the fridge, grabbing a bottle of water.
"Come on, Jay. You know I'm excited to go home too. I can't wait to sleep in my bed."
"Same."
I was the only one who heard Ryder mumble behind me. I jumped a little, accidentally pressing back up against him before turning to face him, anxiously. fiddling with my hands.
I was outwardly smiling but cringing on the inside.
Ryder can be corny and kinda gross sometimes and I know I should just put him out of his misery and let him know I wasn't interested, but I couldn't.
It's a super fucking sucky thing to say, but Ryder was a great distraction from Noah and I knew there was no way he could ever hurt me like Noah could.
✨
After heading up the stairs, I was met by a shirtless Noah.
He rushed off the stage and out of the arena faster than Jay, and by the towel hanging low on his waist and his hair pulled back in a tight bun I could tell he had just gotten out of the shower.
The same pained look he'd had the last four days was on his face and when I opened my mouth to say something, he looked at me wishfully and I shut my eyes, shaking my head as I walked past him.
I tried my best to ignore the way my skin felt like it was on fire when I brushed past Noah, and even though I'd like to deny it, I knew he still had an effect on me.
✨
We rolled into Miami around 5 that morning and after getting to the house, everybody crashed for a few hours, waking up just a little while ago, all ready to go swimming.
"Damn, dude, you weren't kidding. This place is nuts."
"It's even cooler once the sun goes down. The two lights by the rocks over there look like firepits."
All eyes were on me as I walked over to the pool, setting a towel on the daybed near the diving rock.
"Geez, thought you'd never wake up."
I stuck my tongue out at Jayson before shaking my head and pulling off the oversized Theoretical Satisfaction faded pink 80's new wave-style t-shirt I was using as a swim cover-up.
After tossing my shirt on top of my towel, I adjusted the hip straps in my hot pink cutout bikini.
From behind my mirrored sunglasses, I could see Ryder smiling devilishly at me, but that wasn't what had my stomach instantly filled with butterflies.
It was Noah, who had been intensely watching me ever since I stepped outside. I watched the way his eyes scanned over my body and I smirked a little to myself, knowing he was going through hell as I sat at the edge of the pool, slipping in slowly, consciously bouncing with each step I took.
Once seated on a stool at the swim-up bar, I leaned forward, reaching over for the bottle of Jameson the Luke had just set down.
When I couldn't reach it, I hopped over the bar, spinning around and landing on my feet on the other side, reaching under the bar top for a few more shot glasses.
Noah, who was still floating around in the pool, watched with a look of agony on his face as Ryder and I clinked our glasses together. A moment later after finishing the shot, I looked over to see Noah dunking his head under the water.
