I had just got back to the suite I was sharing with Missy and Ricky for the next week and a half and after kicking my slippers off, I plopped back on the couch in the living room, groaning into the first cushiony pillow I could get my hands on.

"Uggghhh! I'm soooo done!"

I kicked and flailed on the couch for a few more moments, having a full-on tantrum as I let my frustrations release from my body.

I pulled the pillow away from my face and propped it under my head while I stared at the ceiling.

"I just want someone who wants me back, ya know? Like... is that asking for too much?"

Looking back at Missy and Ricky, I could see two bright smiles on their faces as they looked at each other, before back at me before Ricky spoke up.

"Well... Ryder seems into you."

I smiled and shook my head before looking back at the ceiling.

"Nah... Ryder's just a flirt."

"We're serious, Sades. Like-- at dinner-- he could not stop staring at you. And, I don't know-- maybe you put all your eggs in Noah's basket too soon."

I bit my lip nervously as my fingers began their anxious battle.

"They're bandmates, though. Isn't that like... breaking some huge rule?"

"You mean like hooking up with your friend's sister? Noah was already guilty of that one, babe."

I nodded, knowing Missy was right, and just like the yin to her yang, Ricky followed up with another excellent point.

"And it's not like Noah hasn't been picking other girls. Isn't it your turn to pick a different guy?"

We woke up the next morning early, excited to begin exploring the city.

After throwing on one of my favorite floral camis dresses, I slipped on a pair of white sneakers, then Missy, Ricky, and I were headed downstairs to meet up with Jay and Ryder, who were hanging back for the day to show us around a little.

When we got down to the lobby, Jay and Ryder were already waiting for us.

Ryder walked up to me pulling his sunglasses off as a bright smile donned his chiseled face.

"Wow... you look-- wow."

Tucking a lock of hair behind my ear, I bit my lip before looking up at Ryder.

"Thanks."

I could see rolling his eyes from behind Ryder as he approached us.

"Oh, shut it, Jayson Reid Fox. I'm eighteen. I can do what I want, okay? Chill."

Ryder hooked an arm over my shoulder and pointed at me with his free hand.

"I like this girl."

Missy and Ricky chuckled together as Jay continued rolling his eyes, leading us out of the hotel lobby and onto the busy New York City streets.

"Well, damn! You guys were kidding. This park is huge!"

"Told ya."

After exploring the city for a while, Ryder said we should go to Central Park for lunch, and now that we had actually made the long trek through the huge park, Missy was exhausted.

She stuck her tongue out and rolled her eyes teasingly as Ryder laid out the blanket he had tucked away in his backpack.

A small smile mixed with shock was on my face as he set down a few sodas before patting a spot on the blanket, inviting me to join him.

"You-- you planned all of this, didn't you?"

Ryder kind of shrugged as he scooted closer to me on the blanket, allowing me to lean back on him a little as the fingers on one of our hands entwined together on the blanket.

"Maybe."

I smiled shyly, looking back at him and as my eyes focused on him I was trying my best to feel the fire that I felt just yesterday with Noah.

"This is really sweet, Ryder."

"And Gargano's has thee best chili fries in the city."

"For this city, maybe... I guess we'll see."

He chuckled behind me and both of our bodies shook because of how close we were.

"You're really into chili fries, aren't you?"

"Fuck yeah!"

"Adorable..."

I looked back at Ryder, and as our eyes caught for a moment, I could almost feel him beginning to lean in.

"Whoever thinks GrubHub isn't awesome is fucking lying."

Jayson was back a second later, interrupting whatever was about to happen between me and Ryder.
