chapter forty one
karl's pov

I stared out at Teegan as I held my phone to my ear, getting nervous about what I was being told.
She shot me a smile and I forced one to her, I was too upset to smile, I turned around and focused back in on my conversation.
"hello? Are you even listening to me?" Corpse's voice brought me back into reality, "Yeah..I am. Sorry, just repeat what you just said..."
"Enjoy yourselves while you're there..but she's going to see it no matter what..I just wanted to call you and let you know it's not getting any better.." I swallowed hard and sighed, feeling myself get sadder by the second, "Corpse why are they being so mean? What can I do? How can I stop this?"
"You can't Karl..it's inevitable, they're jealous..Sulley just comes out of no where and you call her your girlfriend..there's no doubt Sulley's one of the prettiest girls i've ever seen..but I think it comes down to your younger fans being upset that you aren't available for them..no matter who it would be..they wouldn't be good enough for you.." Corpse sighed through the phone and I bit my lip,
"How can they act like this. After everything, we're supposed to be a supportive community not a hateful one..it hurts me..and look what i've done to Sulley, i've ruined her life.." I dropped my face into my hand and Corpse sighed again,
"You two care about each other..dont let these kids get in the way of that..Sulley can handle it..she's strong, and she has you, and you didn't ruin her life, she wouldn't be with you if that was the case..trust me Karl..i'd give anything to be you right now..just enjoy what you have, stop worrying about everything else.."
"Thanks Corpse..listen, I have to go, but I'm going to try and tweet something before I head back outside to Tee. So just let me know how people respond later okay?"
"Yes Karl. Have a good night, stay safe..please keep Sulley as happy as you can for the next few days, she's going to need you soon, but for right now make her have not a single care in the world okay?" Corpse asked me, I nodded as if he were in front of me, "Corpse of course. Thats all i want for her.." I mumbled and we hung up the phone.
I downloaded twitter as I stood in the reception with the motel key, I had paid before Corpse called, hopefully Teegan wasn't getting impatient.

I logged into my twitter and hurried to tweet something out.

@karljacobs_: what happened to being a loving peaceful community? If you guys are truly my fans you wouldn't want to destroy someone I care about. Leave her alone, she hasn't done anything to hurt anyone and she's the most beautiful girl i've ever laid my eyes on so pls

I clicked tweet and hurried to delete the app, making my way out of the reception office, I raised the key up as Teegan stared at me, her black hair flowing in the wind, "Ready to go get comfy?" I smiled softly, she shrugged, "Guess so." I picked up our bags and watched her as she walked before me, she was being very cold. I sighed as we stepped into the small motel room, placing the bags on the floor.
"It's cute.." I mumbled, it was very simple, a queen bed with an old tv in front of it, I kind of wish we brought a console to play on.
"Yeah.." Teegan barely mumbled, she made her way to the bags and grabbed hers, "Im going to go shower." She huffed as she hurried into the bathroom, I furrowed my eyebrows, confused at why she was upset..

After a while Teegan finally got out of the bathroom, I put down my phone, pausing my angry birds.
"Are you okay?" I asked her as I looked up at her, she shrugged brushing her hair, "Why wouldn't I be?"
I sighed, "I don't know..you seem cold.."
"I'm pretty warm. Thanks for asking.." She threw on a sweater and I rolled my eyes, stepping up and walking to her, I pulled her into me, giving her a soft hug. "Talk to me."
"I dunno Karl, who were you on the phone with? First you snatched it off of me when I took the photo and then you walk away all angry..and then you make a phone call..after that girl-"
"Oh god no, T, that's not it at all..I just really dont want us using our platforms this trip. That's all, and Corpse called me, look.." I lifted my phone to her, opening up the call log, "You saw me rip the paper up, you have nothing to worry about, I told you, the only girl on my mind is you.." I smiled as I pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, she slowly smiled too, "What did Corpse want?" She asked as she sat down on the motel bed, I shrugged, "He was telling me about the guys..they miss us.." I lied, Teegan smiled, "Can I call him?" I nodded, handing her my phone, she dialled his number and raised it to her ear, a smile on her face as I heard Corpse's voice.

"Clingy much Karl?" I rolled my eyes and T chuckled, "It's not Karl it's me stupid.."
"Oh..hi beautiful. Having fun?" He said with confidence, I didn't like how flirty he was but I knew T didn't care for it so it didn't bother me so much.
"I am..you have to come here sometime, it's real pretty.." She suggested, Corpse chuckled,
"Maybe I will. Would you come with me?" I rolled my eyes harder now, watching Teegan carefully,
"Then i'd have to bring Karl, and you would third wheel..that would be kind of lame for you, wouldn't it?" I grinned to myself, leaning back on the bed, shutting my eyes.
"Yeah, i forgot you have a boyfriend. Sorry."
"That's fine. Anyways, I was just calling to let you know I was alive and Karl didn't secretly murder me or something.." She chuckled playfully, I heard Corpse laugh too, "I'm glad you're still around. I miss you."
"I miss you too Coco. Have a good rest of your night." Corpse mumbled something and they hung up. T fell back into the bed with me, yawning.
"I'm tired, aren't you?" I nodded, "Very. What should we do tomorrow?"
"Hmm..maybe we could hike or something. We'll figure it out. But for now go put on your pjs!" She shot me a wide grin, I nodded, "Okay okay."
