My Kidnapper Loved me

It's been two days since Ryan and I became an official couple, and if I'm being honest I've never been happier. He's good for me, I think I finally found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with no matter what it takes. He loves me and I love him, I hope that never changes because I feel that we have something that could last a lifetime. I was pulled out of my thoughts of love by Ryan's voice calling my name, it was then that I realized I was thinking in my sleep.

"Elena, baby wake up."

I rolled over pulling the covers closer to my body, I heard Ryan chuckle before feeling light kisses being placed up and down the side of my face.

"Ryan, please let me sleep."

I wined and rolled back over.

"No, Payton's up and asking for you, I think she's sick."

I quickly sat up jogging down the hall to Payton's room, I opened the door walking over to her, however what I saw made my heart drop. Her face was pale with beads of sweat forming around her hairline, I walked over placing my hand on her forehead and cheeks. She was burning like fire and a shiver ran through her body at the touch of my hand, she pulled the blankets closer to her and I looked at her with worry in my eyes.

"Ryan, will you run to the store and pick up some children's cold and flu medicines please?"

"Yeah, do you need anything else while I'm out?"

"No, just that will do, thank you."

"Alright, I love the both of you, be home soon."

"We love you too."

He left the house and I went to get a hot bath started for Payton, I got her in the tub and made her lay down no matter how hot it was for her tiny freezing body. After a good twenty minutes I took her out and dried her body really well wrapping her body tightly in the towel. I carried her back to the bedroom, and got her dressed in a pair of warm pajama pants and one of my long sleeve t-shirts. I got her back into bed placing extra blankets on the bed for a little extra warmth, I made sure she was okay before going downstairs to make her some soup while she rested. The door soon opened and Ryan walked in with two bags one with the children's medicine I asked for and another with cans of soup. I smiled as we unpacked the two grocery sacks, I put the soup in the pantry setting the medicine on the counter for me to look at. I looked at the medicine he chose and smiled because it was exactly what I would've bought children's Tylenol, and children's Motren. I opened the Tylenol first, measured out the right amount and put it on a tray with a small cup of water and a bowl of hot soup. I walked upstairs and saw Payton shivering in her bed. I set the tray down on the bedside table and slowly woke her up.

"Payton baby, you have to wake up."

She rolled over and opened her dim blue eyes that were heavy with sleep, I had her sit up while I fluffed the pillow to where she could lean back and be comfortable. I grabbed the tray lightly setting it on her lap, she ate a little before she pushed her bowl away letting me know that she was done. I handed her the medicine and she struggled with me a little but she eventually took it and washed it down with the cool water I brought for her, I laid with her until the medicine kicked in. I couldn't bring myself to leave her as a new fear crept it's way into my heart. I just don't want her to wake up alone. I heard the door creak open and Ryan peaked his head through the door, I slowly stood from the bed tiptoeing into the hall. I closed the door following Ryan to our room, after I shut the door and turned around I was pinned to the wall. Ryan crashed his lips to mine, and it said everything from I love you, to I miss you all in one kiss, when he pulled away we were both out of breath.

"What was that for?"

I just stood there still trying to catch my breath while I remained pinned to the wall by Ryan, he looked down at me giving me one of his knee buckling smiles.
