This morning I was absolutely shattered. I had only got home at 4 from the police station and then I had to be in work for 7. A solid one hours sleep there.

When I arrived at the police station to bail Mateo out I asked the officer on duty where he was. He told me there was no one here called Mateo castellanos. Turns out the van containing Mateo was driving around the whole of Benidorm till two in the morning arresting prostitutes. So I had to wait for almost three hours for him to even arrive. Then I had to wait a further hour whilst the paperwork was done for him. And the cherry on the cake was having to pay all the money I had on me to bail him out. Consequently we had no money for a taxi home.

Mateo decided it would be a good idea to hitchhike so I had to remind him that it was very late and he still looked like a sex worker. Instead he phoned his friend who I've never met on my phone. I was very apprehensive about that because most of Mateos friends are dodgy to say the least. Thankfully when they arrived I noticed it was different kind of friend. An ex friend with benefits. Mateo promised to pay her in his room that night and they proceeded to flirt for the duration of the journey. I put in a mental note to add her to the list later. This was the thanks I got for using up all my time and money of the evening getting him out of jail.

The only plus side of the evening was Leslie did send me the number of the blue shorts guy. I was texted him for the whole time I was waiting for Mateo. I learned that his name was Chase and that he was a 25 year old hydrotherapist. Too bad he still thought I was a bloke in drag. Obviously I'd have to tell him eventually but for now I was just enjoying talking to him.

I was just taking a brief walk through reception when I saw Mateo arguing with Sam and Natalie (the girls from last night). Sam started to get a bit aggressive very quickly but I couldn't really blame her. Mateo had been messing with Natalie for the whole week so she was probably a bit annoyed at him. Les had just come in and had walked over to me.
"Morning Gaby" he said cheerily. Then he saw my exhausted face. "God are you okay? You look beat". It was nice that he was worried so I cracked a half hearted smile.
"Yeah I'm just a bit knackered. I was up most of the night with Mateo" Les's face morphed into excitement like a fan girl at a 1D concert.
"Hey good on ya pet! I've been quietly betting on you two from the start!" It didn't take long for me to realise Les had misunderstood what I had said and when I did I grimaced.
"Oh Christ! Not like that!" I hissed at him whilst pinching the bridge of my nose. "You know what it's probably best if he explains it to you" I pointed over to Mateo who was starting to struggle to reason with Sam.

"Hey amigo what happened to you last night?" He asked as he readjusted his name badge. Mateo took this as an opportunity to leave the conversation with Sam and he thumped over to us.
"What happened to me?".
"Yeah I came out the restaurant and the pair of you were gone. I bumped into Gaby getting a taxi but she told me a long story. No worries though. We had a great night. I'm seeing two of them again tomorrow. Third lad were a bit young for me but I gave him Gaby's number" he seemed very excited about his dates. I'm glad he had fun last night.
"You have no idea the trouble you cause me" he angrily jabbed his finger at Les. "I was speaking to a man outside. Then the next thing I know... you're seeing two of them" he suddenly trailed of sounded disgusted.
"Yeah it turns out them two were cousins" that caught my attention. Probably a bit weird that he was getting of with two members of the same family at the same time. "As me old granny used to say 'keep it in the family". He laughed heartily as he jogged away. Me and Mateo sighed in unison.
"I wish was that carefree" I shook my head sadly and went away to work.

(Can we just acknowledge how beautiful the scene with Liam and Les is in this episode 🥺)

I was on reception duty for the morning and most of the afternoon which I hated. It's much better to be outside soaking up the atmosphere. Most of the time the insides atmosphere was similar to that of a morgues. However things took a turn when Sam hobbled over to the desk I was at.
"Hi...Gaby is it?" I was surprised she found out my name. Even Les had only just learnt it.
"Yep. And you're Sam right?" I kinda already knew it but I didn't want to seem weird.
"The one and only" she did a little boogie as she gestured to herself.
Smiling I said "can I just say I love how you deal with Mateo". Over the last week I'd had the joy of witnessing Sam arguing with Mateo and it was golden.
"Well that's actually what I'm hear about" she checked he wasn't around and then leant in closer and lowered her voice to a whisper. "Can you access his file on the computer?".
I started to get a bit dubious. "Probably. Why?".
"Well I've just spoken to someone and apparently he's married" that sentence hit me like a stab in the stomach. After all the flirting and the shagging it turns out he has a wife. "With kids". This was even worse. They had been lied to all their life by their own father. "I don't know if it's true or not though. So before I send him to his grave id just like to check the facts".
I gritted my teeth "you're not the only one". I aggressively searched through the computer system to find Mateos document. When I finally found I was reluctant to open it.
