All was quiet. They weren't to make any sound or Princess Delta would hear them and wake up since SandWings had great hearing. Arson, Flint, and RedRunner clung silently to the ceiling of the room preparing for the assassination.

They had snuck in through a large sky hole in the room, most likely for watching the stars before going to bed.

"A sky hole? This will be easier than I thought," Arson had whispered, smirking, when he discovered it.

Then, with finger motions, Arson communicated the plan to his sons: 'I will deactivate the alarm system. RedRunner, you will take out that guard. (He pointed to a sleepy SandWing guard in the corner of the Princess's room). Then Flint will go for the kill.' The pair nodded silently.

Arson replied with one last nod before disappearing into the shadows were the alarm was. After he had deactivated it, RedRunner shot out at the guard, quietly slitting his throat before he could call out for backup. Near the same time, Flint soared down and quickly snapped the small SandWing's neck, accidentally lightly burning her horns from his Firescales, but her horns were already naturally black, so it wasn't very noticeable.

The plan had worked out almost flawlessly. As long as they could get out without any of the guards or, moons forbid, Queen Thorn herself discovering them, this would be a success.

Like ninjas, they crept out of the room of the new crime scene. Flint, being a Firescales, was the last one out, but before he wiggled all the way out, of course, a SandWing guard barged in. Flint's eyes widened.

"THREE MOONS, THE PRINCESS IS DEAD! QUEEN THORN AND KING SMOLDER MUST BE ALERTED. THE PRINCE MUST BE PROTECTED!" she gasped upon seeing Princess Delta's limp, bleeding body. Flint quickly scrambled the rest of the way out of the sky hole, silently panicking, flying away from the Stronghold behind Arson and RedRunner.

As soon as he was out, they booked it. They didn't stop until they reached the edge of the desert. From where they were, an alarm being risen was still audible behind them, but they ignored it the rest of their way home.
