RedRunner glanced around nervously, pacing over to where he usually sat as a palace guard. He had already planned out how the assassination would be done. After dark, RedRunner would steal Mako's key, and, while the guards were on a break, he would slip in Princess Anarchy's cell and quietly slit her throat.

When he cleared his thoughts and raised his head, RedRunner almost leaped out of his scales at the sight of Mightyroar (with a serious face for once) an inch from his snout.

"WHAAAAH!!!" RedRunner yelled. Mightyroar squinted at him as Flint soared down behind him.

    "Hey, RedRunner," Flint said casually.

    "What are you doing here?"

     RedRunner flicked his ears back.

"Uh- Feather said she was b-busy with an unexpected e-event and that we could meet tomorrow night," RedRunner stammered. Mightyroar, clearly reading the whole truth from his mind, widened his eyes and looked worriedly at him.

RedRunner nervously fidgeted with his claws as Flint looked at Mightyroar for a confirmation. Mightyroar reluctantly nodded, sending one last worried sideways glance at RedRunner before ushering Flint back to the dungeon (from where they came).

...Thank you, Mightyroar, RedRunner sighed internally.

Eventually, night fell, and RedRunner's plan was put into action. Sneaking into the room Mako slept in, he very carefully swiped the enchanted bronze key from the night stand. Just as he was slinking away, Mako slowly sat up in his bed. RedRunner froze.

"But... I don't like eels for dinner.." he mumbled before falling back down on his bed, asleep. RedRunner let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

Sneaking the rest of the way out, he then crept down the tunnel that led to the dungeon.

"...heard that Lady Redwood ordered Mako to destroy that key," a guard was saying. RedRunner hid behind the bend of the tunnel.

"Why would they do that?" RedRunner recognized Flint's voice. There was a pause.

"Guards, it's break time," Admiral Kenobi's voice announced, breaking the quiet. There was a short silence then the sound of footsteps fading out of RedRunner's earshot.

As soon as he waited to be sure that all the guards had left, RedRunner slipped into the now darkened room.

Taking out the key and his bloodstained dagger, RedRunner slithered over to the cell. He was on the verge of unlocking it when a partially glowing dragon that RedRunner couldn't identify in the darkness reared up on their hind legs and flared their wings in rage. As RedRunner leapt back in shock, the dragon touched the torches with the tips of their wings and as they burst into flames, the dragon's identity was revealed.

     RedRunner's eyes widened.

     RedRunner's eyes widened
